i legitimately think he can play till 44 at a very high level. but it only takes 1 hiccup for BB to move on with the greatness. so key is to keep on winning. and brady can't show any weakness and can't afford to get hurt.

he was good, but not great. but he could've played 3-4 more years as a good game manager. he was borderline top 10-12 QB when he retired. so he wasn't done.

i would say brady would be driven and he would do whatever it takes to get ring #5. but if he wins #5, i'm not sure if he would be driven to get ring #6. brady played like there is no tomorrow because he was driven. but sometimes that drive can go away when you accomplish everything.

Given his incredibly healthy lifestyle, it would appear that he could go another 5, although you never know with aging. When he wins his 5th it will get tougher to come back but he's so competitive this is really tough to answer.

As long as he doesn't start having shoulder issues due to wear and tear and the aging process, I believe he'll be able to play at a high level for at least a handful of years. What has Brady always excelled at? The QB skills that don't require athleticism. He's still as sharp as ever and commands the room when he speaks. Those things are more important than his age. If he takes care of himself physically, as it has been suggested he does, then he's golden.

Also, keeping a good offensive line in front of him, and keeping a fresh stable of running backs certainly will add to his durability.

I understand the sentiment of wanting to go out on top. But Brady is the ultimate competitor.... The Elway story is nice, but what about the 3-peat?

Yup, we are a great team, a great team that got carried past a 14 point deficit against Baltimore by Tom Brady, and again past a 4th quarter, 10 point deficit against the best defense in the football.

I expect the Buffalo Bills to be two of our three hardest games next season next to Dallas. Without Brady, we might stop winning the AFC East real quick.

There's lots of NFL teams that would go from good to great with a Tom Brady, and one that would go from great to "holy **** this sucks" without him

Unfortunately I think the deciding factor will be if he gets injured on not. The biggest negative of 'older' players is that they will not heal quick enough. A nagging injury could worsen, not heal, and lead to greater injury. The other biggest negative is that they can have some outstanding games, but to do it week after week, if extremely difficult because the body does not heal fast enough. The Pats this year had the best schedule, with the bye coming at a good time, having a bye in the 1st week of the playoffs, and another bye for the superbowl. Brady probably benefited the most from that.

Just look at Kobe Bryant. Injury after injury just keeps piling up all of a sudden, and he will be forced to retire before he wants to. Manning had a sudden drop off mid season. I am no Kurt Warner fan, but he retired after getting pummeled by N.O. in that playoff game and leaving a lot of money on the table. If they can keep Brady from getting injured, he can play outstanding for 2-3 years and 'effective' for maybe at least 5 more years. He can dink and dunk for years. If he gets hit, concussed, gets a nagging injury, its over, and unfortunately that could even be next year.

I hope that Brady retires on his terms, not because of injury (and hopefully that will be years from now).

stop down playing everything else to pimp brady. we all know you love brady. we all love brady. but it's just not fair for our coaching staff and other players when guys like you just think 'without brady this team is nothing'

without malcolm butler brady may be 3-3 on SBs. and baltimore is our worst nightmare. they matchup so well against us. but at the end of the day our defense came through.

again, without brady we are going no where. but we are not jacksonville jaguars either.

If you are talking about Favre, he was a terrible game manager, hated watching film, and didn't know what a nickelback was until he retired. He was at his best playing on pure instinct.

IF he had taken good care of himself, put in the time and the homework, you probably would be correct.
