I watched them yesterday. They are a good team, one that can definitely compete with the current version of the Pats. If the offense can patch over some of the rough spots, NE should still win the division by a couple games, but Miami isn't going to give it to them.
FWIW, Atlanta really should have won that game and just blew it.
Given their wins over two quality opponents in Indy and Atlanta you would have to think they are pretty good. whether they are deep enough to maintain it for a season is another question altogether.
Their OL is going to be what eventually ends up killing them. Right now, Tannehill is athletic enough to get away from the rush, but if he starts to absorb hits it will catch up to him. Wallace is a better fit in their offense than he ever would have been in our's and is opening up a lot of things for them underneath. The running game looks solid as well. Defensively, they are very fast and very good at getting after the quarterback. Wake did get injured yesterday, though.
IMO, if PATS are healthy PATS will most likely win the competition.
Tannehill is good and getting better. They will be tough and PATS
will need their offense to be clicking when they meet.
About the Falcons win. Remember they were playing hurt with lots
of pieces missing.
We need to see how the Falcons play vs. the Pats next week. I have a feeling that the Falcons may be far worse than most people thought especially with all their injuries. The Falcons are 1-2 for a reason.
Remember that this time last year, Arizona were what the Dolphins are today - the hot 3-0 team that beat what everyone felt was one of the best teams in the league and are now legit. After a 4-0 start, they won only one more game the entire season. Granted that was because of their ever rotating QB position which the Dolphins won't have.
I think the Dolphins are a good team, but they will likely be far less of a good team than people think right now when the season is over. They have some significant issues like virtually every other team in this league and they have yet to be fully exploited. Granted they may never be exploited.
I predicted that the Pats and Dolphins were both going to finish 10-6 in the division and the Pats would win it by tiebreaker......sort of opposite the 2008 outcome...and I will stick to that at this point.
The whole AFC East could lose their respective games next week with all 4 teams having a very tough opponent,it will be interesting.
I like Philbin. Good, smart, efficient HC. There is no BS about him, but he's not like a Coughlin or Schiano making a big Gordon Ramsey performance about the fact that there is no BS about him. In other words, he doesn't seem like a walking ego trip.
Honestly, instead of a McDaniels, PHILBIN is the kind of HC I'd like to see succeed BB in the DISTANT future.
