I didn't watch any pre or post game coverage, but I've got to think that Dan Marino must feel like the Cubs felt when the Red Sox finally won the WS. His exclusively club just got a bit more exclusive.

kind of a cheap shot knowing one man never wins a team sport

This wasn't posted as a cheap shot. I feel for the Cubs, and I feel for Marino. The networks in their deification of Peyton Manning always asked the question of whether Manning would end up as another geat QB who never got a ring.

my mistake all apologies to you im a little defensive of my dolphins lol

dan marino feels alot like dan fouts

those dan's have the worst luck

you and i dream of a life like that jc multi-millionaire retired at 38 yup ill take it

Its a lot easier for Peyton to a win a super bowl , to face a tired Pats team than go to the daunting task of playing Lovie Smith and Rex Grossman...

winning a superbowl is never easy, they beat the ravens and the pats two teams filled with playoff and superbowl tested players, so for that they have earned respect, like it or not.

I feel bad for Dan when Cowher and Sharpe were talking about Elway getting his validation by winning the SB. Sharpe was going on and on about how important it is to win one and Dan has his head down.

Its almost like they try to stick it to him.

If Marino had the weapons and team that Peyton has, he would have won 4 SB's. He never had a running game.

Bullsh!t. What about 83 and 84's running game. They were one of the best. In 84 they had the #1 scoring defense.

I agree with you about Marino, but he didn't lack weapons. He had an excellent offense. But Marino's defense was awful. When the Colts D was bad, Peyton was putting up 14 points.

I would take Marino as my QB any day over Peyton. Peyton is great, he manages a game well, but he has a propensity to choke and panic when things aren't going well. When the Colts were controlling the ball yesterday, and Peyton was getting a lot of time to throw, it was game over. He's just too good to lose at that point. But he's a choker in the tight spots.

Marino, on the other hand, was incredibly calm in the pocket, and while he was the biggest doofus of a QB, could hardly run at all, he had more command of the pocket than any QB I've ever seen. The only one who comes close to Marino in that regard is Tom Brady. Marino could sidestep rushers easily. He had eyes in back of his head, and his quick release saved him multiple times.

Marino had the arm strenght and accuracy over Brady, but that wasn't always a blessing since he threw interceptions. And like Peyton, he lost his cool on the field after bad plays, constantly chewing out his teammates and coaches. I'm not saying that Marino lost his calm in the pocket like Peyton, but after plays his demeanor didn't help.

Marino had some weapons, but there defense and running game were always a little suspect.

How is Dan Marino alone? Dan Fouts would certainly fit the same criteria that Marino does.
