How do you feel about last year NOW?

You know what - 2006 was worse. Last year was just a roller coaster ride from the beinning with all the hate. It was as if EVERY game was a SuperBowl! It took alot out of me. And you know what - if we had won - the media and the rest of the garbage fans would have always painted 19-0 with an asterix. Also - there woudl have been much more spygate crap coming out if we had won. Look at us now - hardly any spygate talk.

It was a strange season and I am happy we went 16-0 in the reg season - and TB and RM got their single season records. Still hurts but a SuperBowl win this year will make up for it.

It never happened.

Everything after 2004 is a blank.

I feel awful and will always feel awful until we go 19-0, and even then I'll still be bummed. It's ridiculous that we lost that game. Not to say I'm not psyched for football and ready to watch this team again, but I'll never really be over it.

It's really interesting to get everyone's perspective on this.

It was a missed opportunity to be sure. But if the team were to win the super bowl this year, I would be completely over it. In fact, if the team were to win the super bowl 10-6 with Terrell Owens being wide open in the end zone and dropping an easy pass in the end zone on the final play, I would be over it!

In other words, a super bowl victory would do it for me, no matter how attained -- even if you could clearly say that the other team "lost it" instead of us "winning it."

Here's how it shook out for me:

Leading up to the game was one of the worst experiences in my life. All the negative, anti-Patriots, Spygate, Cheaters talk sucked, because I actually had to shut off all the pre-game stuff, and particularly ESPN.

I remember thinking how I felt in 1996, that it was so unfare that our Super Bowl experience was being ruined by Parcells and McDonough. Then this happened, with Tomase, and the pile-ons by the likes of Steve Young and Co., and IT WAS WORSE. It sucked. It was not fun. There again, as in 1996, didn't seem to be the proper focus. Our QB had a high ankle sprain, and was limping away from TMZ etc. How could an 18 and 0 season be this rotten?

Similarly after the game, I had something to compare the awful feeling to, and it was the 1986 Red Sox loss in game 6 to the Mets. I had that same feeling, although this emptiness seemed to last alot longer.

Last season was one of my absolute favorites. The Patriots went 16-0, Brady & Moss broke several records, AND I went to my first ever Patriots game. All in all, I had a lot of fun rooting for the Patriots last season. I'm hoping that 2008 will be just as great!

I'll never got over it, worse moment in Patriots history, 2nd worst moment was losing in Indy, 3rd worst moment at Denver....

This Patriots team should be 5 SB's in 7, instead i'll have to hope for 4 in 8

Obviously none of you people remember 1981,1990 and 1992. I'll take last years Patriot season over say, Miami's season last year.

The kids in here have NO IDEA how good they have it.

I HATE - understand HATE - the '72 Dolphins and all the whiny arse Fin Fans down here in SoFla.

I LOVE - understand LOVE - the Pats. A lifelong obsession for me.

That said, the 2007 Patriots have no business comparing themselves to the 1972 Dolphins and you already know why:

THE FISH CLOSED THE DEAL!

They won the trophy.

They got the rings.

The Pats did not.

End of story.

I am more proud of the 2001, 2003 & 2004 Patriots than I am of the 2007 team.

The '07 team belongs right next to the '86 & '96 Pats.

Great teams. Great talent. Strong regular seasons. Impressive playoff runs. Lost the Super Bowl.
While I agree for the most part...for god sakes string that into one or two paragraphs!

One thing's for sure-the 2007 team will always be one of the most talked about-ever. I disagree with those who say there was nothing special about them. Consider the circumstances under which they began the season. The entire franchise's integrity had come under attack, their coach was being called a cheat, previous SB's tainted, and all because of their former coach Eric Mangini. Then add HGH,the tragic death of Marquis Hill... ARE you kidding me. That whole scenario had to be one of the WORST clouds EVER to hang over a team, a coach, and an owner. This is a proud team-all that hit them where it really, really hurt.

So opening night freakin Norv Turner practically hires armed guards to make sure no spies entered his locker room.

Can you imagine dealing with that? They did, though. In fact they took the field that night and kicked Norv and his Chargers' ass all over the field. That game was a thing of beauty in every way imaginable.

They went on to kick some more all season long, despite being accused of running up the score and god knows what else. They not only kicked it, but they did it under extreme duress. And that duress never let up,not once.

They were booed at away games, Rodney suspended, Big Vince fined a hundred times, they had to dot ever I and cross every T when it came to rules...and they continued to win.

I know what we fans went through emotionally, so just imagine going through those same emotions but having to play 60 grueling minutes of football every week against teams that wanted nothing more than to take you down.

They were an incredible team, and we fans are lucky to have a group with fire inside every time. There are plenty of teams who would have whined about the obstacles facing them and folded, nevermind get to the SB.

Even though the ending makes me sick to this day, even though I still can't watch the SB, I'll never say that year and that team wasn't something pretty freakin special. Being a Pats fan isn't always easy, but I'll take it everytime.

I find it easiest to blame samuel for the loss, even though i think the giants were just better on that day and got a few breaks that the patriots have gotten in close games over the years. usually those things have gone in the pats favor but that night they just did not
