How can we create cap space right now?

What's better? Awesome receivers with little time to throw? Or good receivers with time to throw?

I'd give up a second and maybe more while pushing some of his cap hit into next season. I think our window is closing and I want number 7.
I thought the window was closing when they came up short in the “my husband can’t” SB... yet here we are. So...

yeah but Belichick doesn't see it that way. he wants to compete for SBs every year.

That is exactly how he has operated for the past twenty years.

Although, I'm going to make myself unpopular here and speculate that he knows this is Brady's last year. Brady put his house on the market and was seen looking at property in Greenwich Village. I hope I'm wrong, but I don't think Bill would not have taken a chance with AB otherwise. Brown was worse than the other "malcontents".

I think Bill is going for it. If so, it's ok to push salary to next year because Brady's salary is off the books and we will be carrying rookie contracts at QB.

I want SB #7. I also want Brady to play a few more years, but I'm reading the tea leaves or at least trying to.

That's why I say, let's go after Trent Williams, who is currently sitting on his couch.

Great in depth piece by Miguel ...BSJ well worth the cost.

PatsCap: Breaking down the salary cap implications of Antonio Brown's release | Boston Sports Journal
Question: When will we learn the official treatment of Brown’s cap numbers?
Answer: We shouldd learn how Brown’s 2019 dead money number is initially calculated by the NFLPA and the NFL’s Management Council next week. The NFLPA has a
public salary cap page Since they are still using the Top 51 rule its current Patriots salary cap space number is $10,468,963. A change from that number should tell us Brown’s new 2019 salary cap number. It may not be until the middle of March when we will learn Brown’s official 2020 cap number. It is not until right before the league year we learn each team’s adjusted cap number. The 2020 League Year begins on March 18.
