And there's a lot more than that were successful by playing hard every game.
I guarantee if someone did a detailed analysis covering every playoff game in Super Bowl era, those teams that competed every game had more success.
You can't just flip a switch. There ain't a single team in the nfl who can do that.
Hell possibly the greatest team in nfl history, the 2007 Pats couldn't do it.
Resting up players in the final regular season game to take a 2 week break, get players back healthy and prepare for the divisional round affords said players the same amount of rest as the team that gets the #1 seed first round bye.
There are a multitude of posters on this forum that have proposed doing just that against the dolphins.

I'm sorry but Denver doesn't get to claim Brady/Manning rivalry that belongs strictly to the Colts
They do when Manning won more of those playoff matchups as a Denver Bronco than as a colt.
five AFC Championship clashes, with Manning winning three (2003, 2013, 2015) and Brady winning two (2004, 2007)

Your reading comprehension work. I posted if you have key starters dealing with injuries you sit them.
But you still compete
And I never once said that you rest ALL starters. To do that you would need a 90-man roster.

Difference is, Manning was good.

Come on man, you can do better than that.

Manning threw for 55 TD’s in 2013 as a Denver Bronco which is still the leagues record for single season TD’s in history.

Looking at AFC clinching scenarios, disregarding ties and Strength of Victory/Strength of Schedule tiebreakers:

13-3 Denver Broncos, currently #1 seed, home vs 11-5 Chargers
- #1 seed with win over Chargers
- #1 seed with losses by both Jax and NE
- #2 seed with loss to LAC, plus one of either Jags or Pats lose
- #3 seed with loss to LAC, plus both Jax and NE win

13-2 New England Patriots, currently #2 seed, home vs 7-9 Dolphins
- #1 seed with win over Miami, plus Denver loss
- #2 seed with win over Miami, plus Denver win
- #2 seed with loss to Miami, plus Jaguars loss
- #3 seed with loss to Miami, plus Jaguars win

12-4 Jacksonville Jaguars, #3 seed, home vs 3-13 Tennessee Titans
- #1 seed with win over Titans, plus both Broncos and Patriots lose
- #2 seed with win over Titans, plus Broncos lose
- #2 seed with win over Titans, plus Patriots lose
- #3 seed with win over Titans, plus both Broncos and Pats win
- #5 seed with loss to Titans, plus Bills lose to Jets
- #6 seed with loss to Titans, plus Chargers lose to Denver
- #7 seed with loss to Titans, plus both Bills and Chargers win

11-5 Houston Texans, #5 seed, home vs 8-8 Indianapolis Colts
- #3 seed with win over Colts, plus Jaguars loss
- #5 seed with win over Colts, plus Jaguars win
- #5 seed with loss to Colts, but Bills and Chargers both lose
- #6 seed with loss to Colts, plus one of either Bills or Chargers lose
- #7 seed with loss to Colts, plus both Bills and Chargers win

11-5 Los Angeles Chargers, #6 seed, at 13-3 Denver Broncos
- #5 seed with win over Broncos, plus Texans loss
- #6 seed with win over Broncos, plus Texans win
- #6 seed with loss to Broncos, plus Bills loss to Jets
- #7 seed with loss to Broncos, plus Bills beat Jets

11-5 Buffalo Bills, #7 seed, home vs 3-13 Jets
- #5 seed with win over Jets, plus Chargers lose to Denver, plus Jaguars lose to Titans
- #5 seed with win over Jets, plus Chargers lose to Denver, plus Texans lose to Colts
- #6 seed with win over Jets, plus Chargers lose to Denver, and Jags & Texans both win
- #6 seed with win over Jets, plus Texans lose to Colts, and Chargers & Jags both win
- #7 seed if Jaguars, Texans and Chargers all win, or with loss to Jets

They're wrong

There's not much question this is what it will be. Next week we'll beat Miami, Buffalo over the Jets, Denver over the Chargers. The result is LA goes to NE, Buf goes to Jax, Hou goes to Balt/Pitt.

The winners of those games are likely NE, Buf, and Hou, so I think the division round will be Buffalo @ Denver, Houston @ NE. Buffalo should beat Denver, so if we can beat Houston, we'll host Buffalo in an AFCC game for the ages.

He did.

You're putting Nix on that level, which is laughable - and that's the most charitable way I can put that.

Since WHEN did I even mention Nix in this convo regarding Brady/Manning?

The only time I ever mentioned Nix since being on these message boards is to say that in his first 2 seasons in the league he is breaking records. Hell, Maye is breaking records too.

YOU implied Manning wasn’t any good in Denver. I corrected that with facts.

Me: "The difference is, Manning was good."
You: 'implied Manning wasn't good'

What level of ******ation is this? I'm not familiar with it.

This is while you've been trying to shoehorn Nix into the discussion, while skirting around it with some weak plausible deniability.

You're not the first troll to come around, my dude. Step up your game.

The fact you're here means you're scared, and that's ok, you should be. You've seen at least enough football (since at least 2013, and presumably Tebow before that), to know that Denver's lucky horseshoe up their ass isn't a sustainable model for success. That defense is decent, but everyone over the last 2 months have moved the ball against them, except KC with Michael Olawakandi or whoever the **** their QB is now.

It was a good season - and maybe you'll luck out and get the winner of the AFC North for your playoff game. It ends after that though. You know it. I know it. Everybody knows it.

I think Buffalo @ Jax is a toss-up. My money is on Buffalo

Buffalo @ Denver - I think our defense will overwhelm their offense and Nix puts up enough numbers on the 20th ranked Buffalo defense to win this game with a 2 week break.

Houston @ NE - NE is playing well on both sides of the ball and in that cold environment I think Stroud struggles.

NE @ Denver - AFCCG.

So, it seems there's no reason the Chargers want to win at all. If they did, they'd go directly back to Denver in the first round. But if they lose, they'd go to NE. I think they'll think they have a better shot resting players and going to Pats, which most teams probably think aren't that tested or complete (weak run game & run D)

Buffalo would get outmatched by Jax in too many ways. Buffalo has been on a razor's edge this entire season and I think the wheels have fallen off more than the record suggests.

I thought you implied Manning wasn’t good. That’s why I reeled off his stats in Denver.

lol I’m not trying to shoehorn Nix into anything. I like his progression, nothing more than that. Anyone that says anything more about a 2nd year QB is a homer, plain and simple. Whether that be Nix or Maye. He’s going to the playoffs again, that’s good enough for me.

If my being here is hurting your feelings just say so and I’ll leave. It’s all good. I like interacting with other teams fans. If I’ve trolled on here, then man up yourself and post something I’ve written that you consider trolling and I’ll gladly leave. You won’t though, cause I haven’t.

Denver won 12 on the spin. We got some luck along the way. That’s true. We also had some bad luck early. We should’ve beat the chargers in LA and only lost by a walk-off field goal. We then lost to the colts by another walk-off field goal due to a dubious flag. Both games we should’ve won IMO.

Jags dismantled us fair and square. They are a very good team and we got too comfortable.

As for “being scared”. I’ll leave that to you. NE is 1-3 in Denver when playing at altitude in the post season. Looking forward to a good game.

Agreed.

So you think a Buffalo team that came back from 21-0 in NE and win is going to go to Jax and lose handily? Interesting.

I know it's not too insane to consider it, but I think playing/winning the AFCCG might be a bridge too far for this team. We do have some weaknesses that DEN, TEX, JAX and even BUF (already) exposed.

Risking the wrath of Pats Nation, I'm looking ahead to suggest realistic FA's we could sign to bolster depth on O:
TE Pitts/Likely, WR Pierce/Jennings/Doubs, RB Hall/Dowdle
