Hope this isn't how the NFL really feels

Did Cowherd completely forget about the blown call in the NFCCG? Wouldn't a Rams SB win ensure that call gets remembered & talked about forever? Meanwhile, if the Pats win, that call will be largely forgotten (except among Saints fans) and be a footnote at most.

In that article, Cowherd doesn't say anything about telling the refs to call the game a certain way. Maybe he does in the broadcast. But in the article, all he's saying is that the NFL would prefer the Rams win.

Yea, but what I cited would be why the league might prefer a Pats win.

If the NFL was gonna have the refs screw us, it would have happened in the ‘15 and ‘17 SB. It was never gonna happen and it won’t happen now. Refs make mistakes and get influenced by home crowds at times - but this constant “ the NFL is gonna have the refs burn us” is silly.

I think hes wrong. A Pats win, especially a big win would would help make the people upset about the Rams getting the no call go away because of justice being served. If they win really big then it would show that even if the Saints made it instead then the Pats still would have won. No harm done to anyone

NFL really needs us to win ... we don't need help.

Got it, misunderstood your post. I’d actually be interested to see how much that missed DPI call goes away if the Pats win. If they do implement replay on PI because of it, then it will have a huge legacy...

Blown call in the NFCCG or not, there’s no way in hell that anyone can convince me that anyone in the NFL outside of NE, would ever want to see the Patriots continue their dominance.

You don't have to be a genius to realize that NFL Corporate wants a Rams win (and would want one regardless of their opponent.) Los Angeles is the number two market in the country and they surely want a marketable product here (I live in LA.) LA fans are notorious bandwagoners (except some Clipper fans possibly) and will only support a winner. Los Angeles is also a city of transplants who still support their original teams, and that doesn't sell season tickets to the Rams and Chargers.

A Rams win is good for business, a Patriots win less so. That said, I expect the Patriots to win by two touchdowns.

As an aside, I hate threads with meaningless titles. Is it too hard to write one sentence that summarizes a post?

Remember during the leadup to Super Bowl 49 when tons of people here were convinced that the league was going to put the fix in against the Pats so that the Seahawks dynasty and their up and coming young QB would be the new face of the league? Also to make sure that the Pats didn’t win after getting “caught” cheating in the AFCCG.

Remember during the leadup to Super Bowl 51 when tons of people here were convinced that the league was going to put the fix in against the Pats so that Brady wouldn’t win and embarrass Goodell over deflate gate?

There is no fixing so stop freaking embarrassing yourselves.

I don't think the fix will be in, but I have no doubt the league hates the Pats. Watch the NFL Network for ten minutes.

If you believe that there isn't an Invisible Hand from Park Avenue guiding the more-easily-corruptible zebras where to look and where to not look, especially the crew chief himself Parry,
in ways that will favor the LOS ANGELES Rams, then you're a naive fool.

Does the league decide the patriots practice outdoors in the cold at Georgia Tech while the rams are getting to practice in an indoor facility? Isn’t that a bit of a disadvantage for us?

Pats are practicing indoors.
