Holley blasting lies on Walsh's resume

Sounds to me like a pathological liar. If you've ever known one, you know that eventually people catch on because the lies start to catch up and then the liar has to move on.

I lived with a pathological liar in college.

the kid was a jerk off and lied about everything. he was nuts

I would walk by him in the living room and ask if he wanted to go out.
He would get all excited and say "yeah man, sounds great, we'll go to this bar at 8" (and named a specific bar)

then i would come down at like 7 to see what's up and he would act weird. I'd ask when we are going out and he'd say "what are you talking about?"
"i never said i wanted to go out"

He would lie about everything else too.

From what it looks like here, it would be comical to watch this guy on the stand. Think about the disgust that congressmen were leveling at Clemens about the possibility (okay likelihood) he was lying... now imagine a few questions regarding the claimed credentials we're talking about.

Of course, that is only of interest if those questions are asked him. We shall see. As I've said elsewhere, I'm just assuming the worst case scenario: That Specter gets to pursue his dog-and-pony show, that none of the NE senators take it seriously and weigh in, etc. That's just a matter of being ready for the worst.

But it looks as though the League (remember, that's who's officially being called into question,) could have a field day in a courtroom if the guy gets in front of congress and lies. And obviously, the Pats and the League are not giving him a carte blanche. They're offering to waive their right to NDA/business secret/proprietary info prosecution, but reserving their right to go after him for slander.

Now Specter's move (coming soon to a theater near you,) will be to get the guy immunity from slander prosecution...

Here's why Specter can get away with something so unfair on the face of it: The theory will be that the Pats will go after him in open court even if he is telling the truth, based on an excuse of slander or defamation. Just watch: Specter will make him into the poor mistreated employee of limited means, who will be pursued by the monstrous vindictive mafia-like Patriots... and therefore needs immunity regardless of the truth of his claims.

Basically, it will be a matter of "Get this guy's accusations on record, regardless of truth."

This is all in the formative stages, and the only "counter" moves seem to be from people in football circles (i.e., stories from old hands in the league about previous espionage, the Rooney move.) The League and the Pats have not really reacted at all yet.

They're playing it a lot like a bend-but-don't-break approach on the field: Sit back and let your opponent make the mistake.

That means some nailbiting for Pats fans, of course, and it probably means that fans nationwide simply believe that the slow drip-drip-drip of "coverup" stories equates to the Patriots' satanic provenance. Well, this hasn't changed since the goddam middle ages... I don't know why we'd believe otherwise.

Just saw on the History Channel "Universe" series a story about Supernovas. Apparently, when a supermassive star explodes, the shockwave compresses gassy regions around that star into newborn stars in their own right. Apparently Matt Walsh saw the same special.

Only 1 problem: though Matt Walsh and Arlen Specter can be described as analogous to ill-defined gassy regions of otherwise empty space, the NE Pats organization shows no sign of exploding... and no matter his imagined proximity, Matt Walsh will never be a star as a result
