Hightower on Lining Up with Spikes and Mayo: 'That would mean a lot to me'
By: Ian Logue

Listening to a lot of the experts, most seem to believe that first round pick Dont'a Hightower is ready to play right now in the NFL. Which is a good thing, because it definitely sounds like he's excited to get out there....

It would mean a lot to us too! [dabs tear from eye]

I like Spikes but judging from his Twitter, he's a little bit of a baby. I hope that he embraces Hightower and doesn't feel threatened by him.

What really surprises me about the article is this: “I talked to Deaderick a couple days before and he told me that they might slide up and come get me and they did,”

Did Bill just lay out the draft strategy to the entire team something?

My guess is they asked Brandon about him, how is as a team mate, etc. and he just assumed it.

I get asking Deadrick about him, but BBs draft strategy is notoriously hard to predict. I don't see how Deadrick could have know they were willing to trade up for him by just asking questions about Hightower. So, either they indicated what they might do or Deadrick followed the draft closely enough to know where Hightower might go and is really good at connecting the dots.
