Hicks wins DL battle over Thornton who's cut for...LaFell?

with that extra height they should both get more INTs than Wilfork. Let's hope so anyway!

If they get any D lineman who's as athletic as Vince, they'll be lucky. It's no accident Vince got those interceptions, he made a play like a safety would. A 6'5" Wilfork would have been a monster.

That was Ted Washington in his prime

Funny thing is that the Saints wanted him to lose 20lbs. Hes at ~325 now.

I'm assuming the reasoning behind that is they wanted him to be more of a 4-3 DE?

Wonder if the Pats would want to keep him at that or have him put the meat back on the bones.

I don't think they're looking for that type anymore. He looks lighter than his N.O. pictures, though I can't find many in a Pats uni. My thinking is, they want more guys who can bring pressure and still be decent against the run. Brown Easley and Hicks, with Branch and Siliga in obvious run situations maybe?

I agree. They want a bunch of Richard Seymour-types.

Branch is ~350 but that's it.

I don't think Ted had Wilfork's athleticism, but I suppose if Wilfork weighed 4 bills he wouldn't be as athletic either.

No he didn't but when he was with the 49ers and Bills he was a tad lighter....around 340 LOL.

What I do know that when he was here he was not even close to 365. I remember him standing next to Seymour and he had him by at least 100 lbs.

He was "listed" at 375 lol.

Can we get Thornton back now?
