Here's hoping the Patriots trust their draft board

We all know the story of how Brady was drafted. Scott Pioli admits that Brady was the highest player on their board for a while but they kept passing because we didn't have enough bodies and QB wasn't a need position. Finally, when he was simply too far ahead of anyone else, they took him.

Where would our franchise be right now if we had waited a little too long and he wasn't there?

That said, here's hoping the Patriots find a good balance between need and skill when they go through this draft. I trust that they will. (doesn't mean I still don't want an OLB though )

Definitely a good perspective to have. If they get good players, everything works out somehow in the end - despite how loudly pundits or weekend GM's howl in protest over not filling a need or reaching or whatever.

Doesn't hurt to be lucky either (ie the what if game with Tate and McKenzie from last year's draft...)

Less a matter of trusting the system as dealing with a target rich environment.
