Were you right behind him carrying the pony keg?
I was visiting from another school. I stopped in my tracks and had my mouth open. I don’t think I’d ever see such a big guy.

No wonder his son dwarves other nfl linemen:

if Cambell can play some excellent LT
He will in the run game. Huge improvement over Lowe. But on obvious pass protection he’ll struggle. It will probably persist. He uses his athleticism to compensate for his puny wingspan. And he can be set up.

An athletic fast guy jukes a move to the outside then slants inside.

And it will get only more troublesome for WC when he gets dinged up and loses some of his outstanding movement abilities.

Fred was correct a year ago (almost to the day):
Get the LT anchor first before the QB

RT? 3/3/91 Morgan Moses? Did you read he rarely was in practice last season as a precaution?

He could stay healthy, but the chances are slim. Just sayin.
14 starts last season, he hasn’t made fewer than 14 starts for 10 years straight since he was a rookie. The odds are in our favor.

Correct. They addressed the line and have a lot of work to do. I think some people thought that means we would be fielding the early 90’s Cowboys line.

I do feel at the very least they have future stars at LG and Center. Ideally,if Cambell can play some excellent LT this year than that’s even better. If not, there’s a pretty good class of tackles next year. At any rate, the line is improved vs last years disaster. How much, we’ll find out?
Agreed, they won’t be a super line like the Eagles have… they’ve invested there every offseason since the GM arrived.

But much like the dynasty offenses, this line might just be top ten, and that’s enough if the rest of the team is good.

I’m also not enamored with this O line.

That said they did try in FA…cupboard was pretty bare snd what was there didn’t want to sign here.

I do believe Campbell is a LT beyond this year. I do believe he’s a possible All Pro at guard.

They still need a LT IMO.

But those dudes don’t grow on trees.

Patience, folks. Campbell/Wilson/Bradbury/Onweno/Moses is an NFL quality o-line. They need time to gel.

Until we start hearing projected starters go to IR this is a decent group.

There will be growing pains and injuries where starters may miss a game or two. It's when reserves start playing entire seasons in when we should be worried.
Its Tackle depth that worries me. Im fine with Lowe as a back up at LT, but who knows if he'll ever see the field. God love him but if Domontre Jacobs is our swing Tackle we are porked.

Fred from Dartmouth was right. Posted last Aug 9.

We’re all hoping Will Campbell, after his storied LSU career, can be just that. He’s got all the intangibles. But it may come down to length.

His wingspan is shorter than the 6’2” third string QB’s. We’re in uncharted waters. Not sure he’s got the length to even play guard let alone tackle.

I may be in the minority, but I’d rather have our QB be a competition between Joe Milton and rookie Tyler Shough with Olu Fashanu as our LT.

Wilson, Wallace and Robinson.

Sow’s rookie year was extremely good. Had a sophomore slump, maybe because new offense, bad coaching, maybe he was overated? Who knows? I trust the coaching he’ll get from Marrone and he’s also a better athlete like Wilson. Only way he would stick at LG is if Cambell was all world at LT and Wilson became the same at center. Sow has the athleticism to play lg but not the strength to take on bull rushes. He’s the back up to Onwenu unless proven otherwise. Wallace and Robinson have the strength and maybe not the athleticism? I don’t think Strange has either.
The knock on Robinson in the college scouting reports was that he could not adjust to stunts and delays. We saw the same thing. Really strong guy that does not move well in short spaces. I have no idea how well Wallace can move as a guard.

This is where I am. The line looks way better than last year and is at least average.

Theres two great looking RT prospects next year so I think it's fated we take one of them next year.

I think they’ll be NFL capable. They’ve upgraded the players and the coaching. I’m not ready to say they’ll be anything other than average, but average would be a massive upgrade.

Rome was not built in one day.

I also advocated for a LT back then, but at the same time completely understood the rationale for selecting a QB - even more so given the lack of quality of QBs in the 2025 draft, relative to those available in 2024.

What I am looking for is legitimate improvement from the OL in 2025, and more of the same in 2026.

As of this moment it appears that the Patriots biggest offseason needs in 2026 will be OL, WR and TE, in no particular order.

Keep improving, keep upgrading, every week, every month, every year.

This goes back three years ago when Isaiah Wynn was moved to RT. That didn’t work out. Then Belichick pulled desperation lever to bring in Marcus Cannon. That didn’t work out. Then a practice squad player from the goddamn Jets came in. Conor McDermott. And he played. Serviceable. Almost.

This when the LT was erratic Brown, an obvious short term solution.

And Belichick had a chance to draft fatty Dawand Jones from THE Ohio State. The guy who is the Browns’ starting LT.

But Mapu felt right instead.

Last year Wallace was drafted. Now he’s a guard. A nice way of saying tackle isn’t working out.

And our starting tackles? We’ve got an ancient guy half a year older than David Bakhtiari, who played at Colorado with Nate Solder, and a guy with a wingspan so short he needs a bidet to clean his backside after a BM.

Gramps and Stubby to the rescue?

As Captain Stone has asked, where is the veteran free agent brought in to play LT in case, you know, the rookie needs help? Been known to happen.

That’s what the Jets thought too. Just wait until you see their impressive OL and bargain basement QB Justin Fields RPO us into crying uncle.
Jesus state you are depressing. If you are seriously saying they should have taken another OL instead of Maye. Then you know little about the game

As much as I love TreVeyon Henderson, and I looove him, we had no business drafting him before BC’s Ozzy Trapilo.

The universe is out of balance with him not playing for Doug Marrone and the Patriots.

Did you know Morgan Moses is six months older than David Bakhtiari, who played college ball at Colorado with Nate Solder?

Nate Solder, that name sounds familiar. Let me think…

Yeesh, I had forgotten all about Dawand Jones.

I was positive the Patriots were going to select him when he was inexplicably still available in the 4th round, and instead drafted Jake Andrews. WTF!? Actually I thought Belichick would take him in the 3rd, when he went with Marte Mapu. It was understandable that Jones slid due to the weight concerns, but to pass on him in the 4th? Unacceptable ineptitude.

They picked Campbell in round 1. They were not going to pick Trapilo at 38 maybe if he slid to round 3 or 4.
# 4 and 38 is too much draft capital for one position.

I do agree thst this OL is going to have a very difficult season

Colorado Buffs.

Nate Solder 2006-2010
David Bakhtiari 2009-2012

Birthdays.

Morgan Moses 03/03/1991
David Bakhtiari 09/30/1991

So David Bakhtiari who played at Colorado with Nate Solder is half a year younger than our starting RT. And our backup Trey Jacobs is horrific.

Um, recipe for disaster.

The solution? Obviously, bring in David Bakhtiari. Less mileage and younger than the guy brought in.
