Eight drafted rookies made the 53 man roster - that HAS to be a record for us! This could go down as one of our all time greatest draft classes!

1 Laurence Maroney 21 RB Minnesota
2 Chad Jackson 36 WR Florida
3 David Thomas 86 TE Texas
4a Garrett Mills 106 FB Tulsa
4b Stephen Gostkowski 118 K Memphis
5a Ryan O'Callaghan 136 T California
CUT 6a Jeremy Mincey 191 LB Florida
CUT 6b Dan Stevenson 205 G Notre Dame
6c Le Kevin Smith 206 DL Nebraska
7 Willie Andrews 229 DB Baylor

Call me a crazy homer, but I have a feeling it will, with at least one hall of famer.

OK, let's go out on a limb here: who will it be?

I think by week 13 we could have four starters from this group: Maroney (sharing time with Dillon), Jackson, O'Callaghan and Gostkowski.

Great question. Off hand I thought the '96 class had a ton of guys who made the squad. Don't know if it's 8 but it's probably close.

plus an undrafted... Woods.

but they haven't made it yet. If DB comes back,or player comp, or another pickup and somebody has to go.

Well, since I think Chad Jackson is the next Jerry Rice and Maroney is the next Roger Craig, I will go with Jackson. Maroney will be a superstar, though. I think Mankins and O'Callaghan become pro-bowlers at some point as well.

96 was a great class too:

1 Terry Glenn 7 WR Ohio State
2a Lawyer Milloy 36 SS Washington
3c Tedy Bruschi 86 LB Arizona (from Detroit in previously mentioned trade)
4a Heath Irwin 101 G/C Colorado
4b Chris Sullivan 119 DL Boston College (from Detroit in previously mentioned trade)
4c Kantroy Barber 124 FB West Virginia (from S.F. through Oakland in previously mentioned trade)
5a John Elmore 139 G Texas
5b Christian Peter 149 DT Nebraska (from Oakland in previously mentioned trade)
6a Chris Griffin 173 TE New Mexico
6b Marrio Grier 195 FB Tennessee-Chattanooga (from Detroit in previously mentioned trade)
6c Devin Wyman 206 DE Kentucky State Compensatory Pick
7a Lovett Purnell 216 TE West Virginia
7b J.R. Conrad 247 G Oklahoma Compensatory

Glenn, Milloy, Bruschi, Irwin, Sullivan, Grier and Purnell were the only ones who made the squad though IIRC. That's only 7.

(edit: added Glenn)

Kelley and Kingsbury did not make the final cut.

Only 6 made the 53 man roster (Warren Wilson Johnson Samuel Koppen and TBC) but that was also a very good draft class.
