They're lovely.

Snowstorm puts damper on some First Night revelries - The Boston Globe

By Milton J. Valencia and Jenna Nierstedt
Globe Staff / January 1, 2009

The year 2008 -- soured by economic recession, government scandals, and a losing football team -- left a nasty snowstorm as its final jab, dampening but not deterring First Night revelers across Massachusetts who celebrated the arrival of the new year.

Since when did the winning-est team of the century.....dynasty in the making, morph into a "losing football team". How soon they forget.

Maybe they were talking about BC?

Hey, to the Globe, 2008 was "soured" by Bernie Madoff, Rod Blagojevich.....and the 11-5 New England Patriots.

How's that for news analysis?

They always did have that keen ability to keep things in proper perspective, just like their soon to be ex owner - NY Times.

We're it not for Mike Reiss, I think I would have them take their rightful place next to the Boston Herald (nowhere). Imagine, hiring and featuring Tony Mazz - maybe the sleaziest writer in Boston (note: I did not say dumb, that award will forever stay with Tomase).

I agree...11-5 bad??? What short memories...and perspective?? I agree..Reiss rocks!! BUT give me a break...11-5 BAD...lol

No Playoffs= Bad to them.

I swear, sometimes I think these guys don't even watch football.

What else happened in 2008, around February? Oh yeah.

The writer could also be referring to losing the Super Bowl, which we were vfavored to dominate in. Some here are still taking meds to get over that loss.

That's where NEers get under the label as spoiled. Anyone who thinks a their team is full of loses after going 11-5 when your ******* QB does down is just extremely short sighted.

IDK about meds, but it's been killing my stash thinking about it :[
