Happy 26th Anniversary to Pats Fans

Came here back in the old KFFL days in 2001 I think. Or at least so far back I can't remember exactly when. "Only" 17000 posts so far, but I'm a proud regular in my own fashion.

Thanks Ian
Your posts are a prime example of quality over quantity.

Thanks, and keep ‘em coming!

Thanks Ian.

I’ve got that 20+ on you, and I hope you make it this far as well as I have, including finding and having things to enhance your life as PatsFans has and does enhance mine.

Best wishes!

If only I had known! I was online in 2000, but I was still kinda gunshy about joining things since the internet was still kinda 'weird' to me at that point.

First forum I ever joined was for He-Man

But I've enjoyed being a part of this for however long I've been rambling around.

Thanks Ian,

Not just for the site, but also for you being you. As board owner you have a large target on your back. It is especially big target when two guys are going at it and crossing boundaries of good taste or respect. You have always been a class act and found ways to mediate a solution. The SamBamGrogan saga just latest case in point. I Tip my cap to you sir.

I found Patsfans by way of the BSPN boards back in 2001. somehow I don’t recall exactly who it was on espn who said it was a more user-friendly place (several chimed in to echo the opinion), but I sorta have the recollection one of the first was NEM ( if you can believe anyone can attribute something positive to him. Lol. ).
I was pretty prolific posting back then as I was deployed to Kuwait in an army ops center and wasn’t much to do after shift. Not too many pats guys there, so I had to post & read a lot to get info, & successfully argue with the other 31 teams fans there in the bar tent. Lol. I and one other guy were the only 2 pats fans in a tent of about 120 watching the silence of the lambs SB, …good times.

I became a perpetual LURKER as my career path changed, got busy and I lost my 10k? Post count in the server crash. (That was kinda demotivating. ). But, Patsfans has been a North Star through my travels across 3 continents 3 careers and numerous jobs-location.

Thanks for everything.

I think I of course started out at patriots.com and got very bored very quick there. Not gonna lie….its the people! It has NONE! While here, we have a community of dare I say FANS? Sure things can get testy….we wouldn’t be fans if things didn’t tbh. At times overly zealous, spirited, dedicated….fans. I’m glad Mr Kraft’s site bored me….

Thanks again @Ian for being the great site admin/host/owner/writer you are!

I've been here since '04, great leadership/moderation has made this the best sports forums on the internet.
While I post less, as the content has gotten more sophisticated and intelligent, still visit here several times a day to find out if anything is happening in the PatsFans world.
Hats off to Ian and his hard work.

One of the best websites I have ever come across. Huge kudos to Ian, the mods and the really good posters who make this haven hum.

Anyone remember Soothsayer? He owned a Jets board and would visit Pats boards when the Jets were atop the AFCE stirring up a lot of crap.

Remember when a Jets fan created a hoax that spread like fire across the internet. Drew Bledsoe had been traded. Pats Nation was in shock because he was the future. It was sometime back in 2000 when it was harder to discern fact from fiction. It was like the Wild West back in those days.

NEM (rip) kept PF.Com lively back in the early years. Writing letters to Bob Kraft. Begging for him to fire Charlie Weis because he never called Slants across the middle.

Jurassic veteran of USENET football forae in the early 90s. Then the Patiots Mailing List. Lots of hilarious memories
And finally Patsfans.
Thought I'd depart as TFB & BB departed but stayed, just quieter, because of continued quality posts by members.

Here's what this place looked like originally:
I vaguely remember a link you had on the site back in the day featuring bikini babes.
For nostalgia purposes only, how about a trip down that memory lane.

I think Dabruinz and I both came here from the ESPN boards?

Feels like a million years ago. And like yesterday.

Congrats, Ian! And thank you.
Same!

The ESPN boards lol. If you like trolling that's a great place to do it cause moderation was so bad. I had my trolling fun on the Colts board back in the day lmao.

I wonder what happened to PATRIOTS_LOSE poor guy had nothing else to do after the board closed

Remember some of these posters?

Belichickfan - AOL board
Dawger52- AOL board
FernJoe - AOL board
Darkside Devotee - Raiders fan
Bucarino - Tampa fan
Roberto Duran - trolled Jets boards like no tomorrow. The real Roberto Duran said " No mas" during a fight quitting. Troll Roberto Duran would post "No Moss" because NYJ Santana Moss dropped a TD or something like that.
Patspanel - Was pretty funny.
PatsfanTex - Was banned off Jets boards a dozen times. Somehow he always got reinstated only for the place to blow up again because of his trolling. He was an expert about the draft. Just ask him.
Ghoolie - A Browns fan wreaked havoc on Steeler boards. Especially after the Pats would send them home.

I just want to add a special thanks for the freedom of speech on here, letting us criticize, vent and swear but still under control so it doesn't get too raw or out of hand. I've been banned from like 3 sports fan forums without warning so we should feel very lucky and grateful that type of extreme speech control doesn't happen here.
