Let's be fair to Hannable, the Patriots have been terrible at drafting safeties lately...

Since 2014 - 5 drafts, zero safeties selected. That is literally a 0% success rate for drafting safeties.

How can they be terrible at something if they haven't really done it?

They missed badly on Richards but hit a triple with Harmon who was 2013.

In essence they are hitting .500 which is fantastic.

The safety position is evolving anyways. More CBs who can't cut it in tight man to man coverage are being converted to safeties.

Possibly might be one of the worst top two rounds picks in the BB era. Him and Easley. My god. Klemm, Brace, Tavon are there too somewhere.

I would hope that 4 starters and 3 solid contributors would be enough for someone to do backflips.

The draft is unlikely to produce even half of that.
