And I repeat, I have said on multiple posts that Gronk isn't going anywhere if he stays disciplined in the future. I merely suggested that another handful of these types of plays could lead to Belichick parting ways with a guy as talented and integral as Gronk. And then everyone lost it and accused me of trolling. What that says to me is that many posters seem to value individual players over team. I'm glad Gronk apologized, but that doesn't change his behavior in the moment. Here's hoping the whole thing blows over, but based on the general public and tenacity of New England fans to defend the team, it will likely blow up into a major controversy.I'm disagreeing with you because I think your way overreacting. Gronk apologized right after the game and if you think BB keeps Gronk around because of results and not the patriot way you're just plain wrong.
Agreed. Prepared to be labelled a troll in 3... 2... 1...Gronk deserves a suspension for that since it was obviously intentional and it ended up putting White on the concussion protocol. It wasn't like White was showing aggression towards Gronk. It was an obvious hold and DPI but its really unacceptable for Gronk to attempt to hurt another player. Even Belichick acknowledged that Gronk's conduct was poor when talking to McDermott. I hope that it isn't longer than 2 games but definitely don't be surprised to see a 1 or 2 game ban and perhaps further retribution from Belichick. Also, Gronk might be a player to watch for during the offseason as a surprise trade target. The Patriots don't take these things lightly. Also, if Talib and Crabtree were originally given a 2 game suspension for getting into a relatively heated brawl, it wouldn't be surprising to see Gronk getting something similar to that due to the obvious intent to hurt.
what are you talking about? Gronk was interferred with, held , grabbed and bashed illegally downfield all game, just liek the ENTIRE SEASON@!!!!He gets NO CALLS!! THAT'S WHY!!! WTF is this goddamned "victim"
shyt??}? I'm no ****in' victim. I KNOW what the **** I'm watching every week. Was that penalty deserved, in a vacuum? Absolutely. But given the context and the subsequent non call on OBVIOUS PASS INTERFERENCE, every Patriots fan should be INCENSED The ****in' scoire has ZERO to do with anything. Call the game the proper way., not "we have different rules for Gronk and other rules for players defending him" . This stunk today. Corrente was deliberately screwing with the rules.
The problem with your point is that it's rhetorical. You make it seem like Gronk is going down a dangerous road. When you have to use the "IF" then it's a duh statement. IF this kweps happening, if that keeps happening then of of course it's dire. What's wrong with that us there is no eveidence that any trend is going on to even bring it upI'll repeat. I don't think Gronk is getting cut for this. I merely said, before being labelled a troll, that a few more plays like this could lead to the Patriots parting ways with him -- or any other player -- in the future. I don't think Gronk is going anywhere if he gets back to just playing and, from my perspective, eats a little humble pie in the form of a suspension could help keep him focused and more healthy headed into the playoffs.
If that's the case, Gronk could be done 2-3 games.
If the Patriots beat Pittsburgh on the 17th, but both teams end up 13-3, who would be the 1 seed? Patriots would have head to head, but Steelers would have beaten KC, who we lost too.
LOL, I'm not angry at all. Being angry presumes the existence of some sort of stimulus which triggers that anger. Now, you have mildly amused me, if that makes you feel any better...So what part of my point is absurd? You won't even state what you find so horrible about what I said. I honestly can't believe people who won't even engage in a discussion without establishing what they're angry about/disagreeing over.
No one is defending Gronk, you keep saying that is probably why your getting called a troll. And I repeat, I have said on multiple posts that Gronk isn't going anywhere if he stays disciplined in the future. I merely suggested that another handful of these types of plays could lead to Belichick parting ways with a guy as talented and integral as Gronk. My rationale is that Gronk is an emotional guy who Belichick and Brady have helped to keep focused over the years. A situation like this one, as well as the Brown incident a few years back, suggest he can sometimes let his emotions run away with him. When emotions run rampant, that's called the Cincinnati Bengals. I just am advocating a minor disciplinary action against him. If we can't beat the Dolphins without Gronk, we're in trouble against the Steelers, anyway. The problem with your point is that it's rhetorical. You make it seem like Gronk is going down a dangerous road. When you have to use the "IF" then it's a duh statement. IF this kweps happening, if that keeps happening then of of course it's dire. Haha. I didn't think of it from that angle. They could also dredge up Gronk's ladykiller personality as a sign he suffers from toxic masculinity that Roger "Freud" Goodell must cure with a suspension and personal counselling sessions. Can't wait for one of the jackholes on ESPN to make this a race issue... Because you know ESPN can't resist making EVERYTHING a sjw agenda...
Also, there are more rules in play than just the "rulebook". The "rulebook" only claims to be the book of playing rules. There are plenty of other rules in effect, like the Game Operations rules. That's nice. Then why was Brady punished under Article 46?
Also, bolding all your text doesn't make you more right.
Probably true. But let's see what happens after a few days of ESPN and talk radio whipping the nation into a fury. This thread is more chicken little than the GDT.
I personally saw posts that claimed Gronk shouldn't face a penalty because of x, y, z example. If that isn't defending the action, I don't know what is. I am merely arguing that Gronk's decision should have a consequence. Not for the good of the Bills or Roger Goodell, but because it can help Gronk to remember not to make a similar mistake in the playoffs. I've said that repeatedly and been called a troll each time. It is absurd the level of homerism on here. We can't even discuss the pros/cons of such matters without labeling legitimate fans trolls. It's sad.No one is defending Gronk, you keep saying that is probably why your getting called a troll.
This will be decided in a couple of days - it is not going to be a prolonged controversy - unless they overpunish and there is an appeal.Probably true. But let's see what happens after a few days of ESPN and talk radio whipping the nation into a fury.
