Gronkowski Likely Facing Penalty From NFL After Hit On Sunday

You're a genuine troll.
And you won't even debate with opinions about the issue at hand. What do you even disagree with about my posts? Let's debate this issue by talking about Gronk and the Patriots Way rather than seeing who can yell "Troll!!!" loudest. I'm honestly at a loss about how much people are willing to excuse undisciplined, selfish play if it is their team committing such acts. Doesn't winning a championship with good, clean, and smart play have a better ring to it?

goodell hates us, kraft is his *****.

roger might hand gronk a 3 game suspension. and nothing could be done about it

How is wanting clean, smart football out of my mind? So you're fine with Gronk trying to injure other guys in the future. Because that's what you're saying if you disagree with my sentiment he'll be gone if this type of behavior continues.

At the very least, you posters who disagree with me could have the courage to state "I am okay with Patriots getting cheap shots on other teams." Because that's what you're saying by not repudiating this type of behavior. I've loved Gronk for years, but this type of thing can snowball and draw a media sh*tstorm that can derail a season. Just wait.
How long did we have Rodney Harrison? This is Gronk's first real incident. He'll get punished. Maybe even if it's merely Belichick sitting him. However, he's not getting cut. It's beyond premature.

Alonso knocked Flacco out out of the game and gave him a concussion. Wasn't suspended.
Apologism
I don't really see anyone defending him, just disagreements whether fine or suspension.
I've been called a troll for suggesting Belichick won't put up with this type of undisciplined play from Gronk. Some people on this board look at any suspension as a witchhunt rather than something that, as in this case, is likely deserved (and could help keep the player disciplined in the future to avoid similar type of plays in a playoff situation).

Rodney was here 6 years and never was suspended.

He's not getting 3 games. They just had a full blown fight in Denver that got a ton of media attention that went from 2 to 1. He'll get 1 at the most. Anything beyond that and the media will start comparing it to anything. And as much as league ownership (notice the term I used) dislikes us, I think they really don't want another blow up where it becomes about the league coming down to hard on the Patriots.

That said Gronk didn't put himself in a great spot and isn't going to be a sympathetic figure here.

I'll repeat. I don't think Gronk is getting cut for this. I merely said, before being labelled a troll, that a few more plays like this could lead to the Patriots parting ways with him -- or any other player -- in the future. I don't think Gronk is going anywhere if he gets back to just playing and, from my perspective, eats a little humble pie in the form of a suspension could help keep him focused and more healthy headed into the playoffs.

You have already responded to me on this. At this point you are kind of going overboard

I won't "debate...with opinions" because there are occasions when "opinions", such as yours in this instance, are so patently absurd and outrageous so as to not be worthy of consideration, let alone debate. If I decide to engage in any sort of debate, it will be with someone who is sufficiently armed and able to provide some sort of substantial opposition. Sadly, at least to this point, you don't qualify. Go back to your sandbox...

I'm only doing this because multiple posters have attacked me for trolling without engaging in legitimate debate. Apologies for the reply if unwarranted/unneccesary.

I'm disagreeing with you because I think your way overreacting. Gronk apologized right after the game and if you think BB keeps Gronk around because of results and not the patriot way you're just plain wrong.

Different era with player safety. The fact that White got sent to concussion protocol is going to be an issue imo. Because with CTE a player needlessly causing a concussion in 2017 is a problem for the league optically.
That's my concern. It's like punching someone and they go to the hospital for stitches but while there have a stroke.

The concussion protocol is a concern . No question

So what part of my point is absurd? You won't even state what you find so horrible about what I said. I honestly can't believe people who won't even engage in a discussion without establishing what they're angry about/disagreeing over.

Gronk deserves a suspension for that since it was obviously intentional and it ended up putting White on the concussion protocol. It wasn't like White was showing aggression towards Gronk. It was an obvious hold and DPI but its really unacceptable for Gronk to attempt to hurt another player. Even Belichick acknowledged that Gronk's conduct was poor when talking to McDermott. I hope that it isn't longer than 2 games but definitely don't be surprised to see a 1 or 2 game ban and perhaps further retribution from Belichick. Also, Gronk might be a player to watch for during the offseason as a surprise trade target. The Patriots don't take these things lightly. Also, if Talib and Crabtree were originally given a 2 game suspension for getting into a relatively heated brawl, it wouldn't be surprising to see Gronk getting something similar to that due to the obvious intent to hurt.
