As for Gronk, he might not end up as the highest paid, but either way he's going to command a massive raise without question. So will AH, who is currently on a fourth-round rookie contract.
FWIW, that contract was actually structured in such a way that he could earn third-round money if he doesn't get suspended at any point during the deal.
In any case, as I said half-jokingly on another thread, the solution is simple: pay Welker, GRONK, and Hernandez what they're worth, and build around them.
