Btw, nearly half the TE's you listed are JAG's and Ballard can easily match their production in this sytem.
I think gronk is a good candidate for the designated ir we wasted on visathe shiancoe last year.
Maybe it's just me, but I'm more concerned about Herr Vollmer's chronic back issues than about Gronk's minor disc surgery.
I agree, but I do think that Gronk's is cause for concern but not alarm. According to Stephania Bell he is looking at 12 weeks before full contact and he is ultimately going to miss an entire offseason of hard core working out to get ready for the season. At a minimum he should be on the PUP to give hiom as much time as needed to prepare for the season, and he may even require the IR slot. I would much rather have him come back at as close to 100% as possible than rush him in any way because when all is said and done it will be the play-off run that matters, and if they can't get to the play-offs without him then they really weren't going anywhere anyways. (although I think that is completely unlikely, i think they will be in easily even if he sits out until december.
Some Comments on the comments:
1. People are NOT using their inference skills on this topic and thus are blowing it way out of proportion.
2. There is a reason that the Pats are delaying this surgery and its NOT because of any supposed "infection" he has. Its been determined already that there IS NO infection at this point. Thus I would infer the delay as meaning the "back surgery" is very minor and prophylactic. One of those things that you are back at full strength in a few weeks.
New England Patriots Forums - PatsFans.com Patriots Fan MessageboardThe reason for the wait, according to a league source, is a precautionary measure to ensure the infection that resulted in Gronkowski undergoing his fourth forearm surgery May 21, is a little further in the rear view mirror.
