GB is too one dimensional. Dallas is the most complete team in the NFC and they've got homefield advantage. Dallas wins.

Taking Green Bay but I want Dallas to win. Can't stand seeing Rodgers succeed anymore. The charm has officially worn off now that the media has appointed him Peyton 2.0 (or The QB Who We Will All Pretend Is Better Than Brady).

That being said, the recent stretch he's played (and the streak is still alive) is arguably the best QB play we've seen all year by anyone (although you could make a real case for Brady's entire season). I think Dallas' big 2 rookies on offense and the entire defense could look very different in the playoffs compared to regular season, which is another reason why I want to see them win--better matchup for us if we both make it to the Super Bowl.

Of course, if Dallas wins this game, my theory about the rookies being the weakness was probably entirely false, meaning I wouldn't be quite as eager for the Patriots to face them. Still, I think even if the rookies can handle GB, there's still a good chance we can do a better job against them. GB has been shredded in the playoffs by new guys like 2011 Kaepernick before, and Belichick has a great track record against rookies.

I also get a strange feeling that we may be seeing another 2010-like playoff run for Rodgers. Hopefully the Steelers won't make the Super Bowl "by default" again this time.

That was a devastating hit? I remember watching it and it did not look so bad.

Torpedo to rib cage is devastating. But I agree it didn't *look* bad. I guarantee a letter or maybe even fine is gonna get sent out about it. It should have been a penalty. You aren't allowed to lead with helmet any more against defenseless receiver, even if it isn't to their head.

I've had broken ribs, broken arms (both radius bones simultaneously), etc., bones in my hands. Nothing comes close to the pain of the broken ribs. Say good bye to breathing deeply, laughing, coughing, lying down comfortably for a couple of weeks. Much less playing football. Sucks for them.

Definitely would like to see a GB/NE Super Bowl. Two teams with highest records in the last ten seasons.

I like the Dallas story/turnaround this year and it's a well built team (given Dak's progress).

But, I will have to say, Never Dallas as long as Jerry Jones owns the team)

Watch a local high school game in person. The "noisey" hits are plastic on plastic and are rarely as bad as they sound. If someone goes down in silence, he experienced a hit did some damage to his flesh. The same principle applies to the big boys too.

I was thinking about rooting for GB to win but you guys have convinced me to root for Dallas. Still a Brady vs Rodgers Superbowl is a wet dream for the NFL!

Depending on the size he wore, those rib pads typically are only going up to a certain point under the armpit. If they are looking at his spleen which is mid-rid cage, that is the top of the rib pads and wasn't able to fully deflect the hit.

I'm speculating but thats my bet.

Whoever comes out of this game will be a very dangerous team to play.

I think After watching GB we are forgetting about Atlanta too much. Atlanta has (this year) only a slightly less impressive QB but better weapons. Atlanta could be argued to be a better version of GB. What makes GB a bit scary though is how well Rodgers can create plays. Ryan is like Brady in that he needs to see the field and read it and hit his mark. IF they play doesn't work then it is unlikely he can extend it by himself too long or run for 15 yards.

However back to the point of this thread. I think Dallas wins. Nelson will either not play or not be effective. Dallas will be home and come to play. GB is not the same team away from home. Not close. Dallas has good balance and will score points unlike the Giants.

Could be. I just remember the Gronk hit and thought that was a monster hit.

That said, I think Dallas wins but I could see the rookies crapping the bed - AKA Pats in 2010. If GB can't stop the run and bites on the play action stuff, Dallas will win going away.

I was thinking about how the Pats would play the Cowboys. I could almost see them allowing the Cowboys to run the ball till the 10 yard line. Let them move the ball but hold them to FG. Brady can score TDs.

Zeke and that Dallas OL mow down Green Bay.

Want Dallas for personal reasons as I have a few Cowboys fans in my circle of friends I'd spend a Super Bowl party with.

Regards,
Chris

In hindsight, with the exception of Tom, VW, Light, Branch and a couple of other lesser players most of that team was in their first or second year and first playoff game.

Nelson will not practice until at least Saturday, might be available versus Cowboys. Apparently nothing other than a rib "injury". Did spend night in hospital.

Dallas is the more balanced team (#5 offense, #5 defense) so I would rather the Pats (#3 offense, #1 defense) face GB (#8 offense, #21 defense).

No way, no how, no where, no year, no time do I want the Pats to face Aaron ****ing "Run the Table" Rodgers and the Goddam "mystique" of the great Lombardi and his sacred GBP in the SB.

I want a nice Rookie QB like Dak, around whom BB has probably already developed a Game Plan that will end up in Canton, or Matt Ryan, who will be so freaked out to finally be in the SB that Belichick will get so far into his head that the Pats might finally have a two score lead in the last two minutes of a SB.

Horrible news. I like Jordy. Helluva player.
Agreed. The guy led with his helmet and hit him right in the ribs or, maybe worse, the kidney. Should have been a flag and I hope it's a big fine.

But most, I hope that Nelson's long term health is not impacted. It was the kind of hit that nearly killed Bledsoe, but the hit on Bledsoe was clean.

Yup. I was one of the people that was worried about the Jets playoff game because of the rookies. Rookies rarely play well in their first playoff game. Big Ben, in his first year, had a 15-1 record and looked terrible in both his first (a win) and second (loss) playoff game. Rookies just can't be trusted in the playoffs.

I know nothing.

I thought the Pats would roll vs Jets, Pitt and win the SB.

In hindsight, there were a lot of weaknesses that were covered up.

I want to see the best Super Bowl match up between 2 great QB's. I want Rodgers vs Brady and let the best team win. However:

I voted for Dallas to win.. I think they are the better and deeper over all team. With that said with 2 rookies leading the offense it makes me wonder if they can keep it going.

I voted for I want Green Bay to win, because like I said I want Brady vs Rodgers in the Super Bowl. Plus I predicted a GB vs New England Super Bowl pre playoffs. I would also like to add I have said GB vs New England the past 4 years lol..

If McCarthy coaches like he did in the Giants game they aren't advancing to the NFCCG.
