Probably because he's not viewed as a perfect compliment and more like a slower, less physical clone.
Slower and weaker? yes. He doesnt plow through people like Mayo but he takes them down. He is incredibly smart and not only knows his position but the position of other players as well (something BB loves in players) and he is very instinctive on the field.
I wont mind a player of James calibur playing next to Mayo for the next few years. The guys is tremendously talented and will be a great pickup for some team.
