With press secretaries its not a political bias with me. Some also hold back their own personal editorializing.

I had a college professor who was awesome that worked for Marlin Fitzwater (Regan/GHWB) and her commentary on the role was fascinating.

She said some POTUS are looser and more comfortable with their PS PoV and personal commentary.

Some POTUS are more stringent on what their PS says.

Her experience with Ronny (You are onstage. Be yourself, but stick to the talking points) and GHWB (Mr. CIA control every syllable the info) was night and day.
