Goodell Being 'Pushed' By Influential Owners to Keep Brady's Suspension at Four Games

Short term memory should not be the legacy in which we always remember Kraft, and this ordeal is FAR from over. If Tom is standing on the podium with his arm around Bob hoisting #5 come Feb. 7th in Santa Clara, what will you say?
I am confident Brady will be saying to Kraft thanks for nothing and you can tell your buddy Goodell and your partners to shove the Lombardi .

You seem to be taking something personally about this whole issue, so we should probably leave things where they are at and agree to disagree.

Just to clear things up, I definitely wasn't claiming that you personally were naive--my comment about being naive was in response to the thought that there was a small minority who thinks that Goodell has done well for the owners. That's the subject I thought we were talking about. Perhaps there was a miscommunication there, and if so I apologize. In the big picture of things, it hardly matters anyway.
Given the nature of how human's perceive, we are all naive about some things. That said, I was referring to a small minority

I was referring to a small minority on this board in response to a calling posters here "defenders of Roger".

I'm not taking anything from you personal, and my intent is certainly not to attack you. I just miss the tone and respect with which you used to always post. There was a time when I found myself drawn to you words, even when I disagreed with them. That is a truly rare quality for which I hold tremendous respect. By no means have you become an arse or particularly disrespectful, you're still a solid poster, but the tone and nature of your posting has changed significantly. I simply bring it up in a clumsy attempt to regain a lost voice of uncommon reason and patience that made a positive impact on any who read it.

I'm afraid the very nature of how human's perceive makes it impossible to ever be completely free of naivete. I believe the understanding that we are naive about some things is required for true, genuine discourse. For example, before this whole Deflategate fiasco, I had no idea how little influence Kraft had among the 32, and dramatically underestimated the leagues' corruption and vitriol towards the Patriots. With the information I had, that conclusion seemed both valid and reasonable. New information has made it obvious that that perspective was naive. Such examples are common and are the fundamental reason why I think throwing around terms like naive on subjects about which we know our knowledge is far from complete, is poor form. Please excuse my hypocrisy the next time I throw around that, or similar terms about a topic for which I clearly have limited information.

Duly noted @Galeb. I think some of it may be due to the controversial subject matter that's been discussed throughout this deflate gate nonsense.

Either way, it was something I was unaware of, so I'll make a strong attempt at keeping things more positive and lighthearted, particularly during moments of disagreement. Improvement can always be made under any circumstance. At any rate, thanks for pointing out some of the pluses as well.
