Good read on Donald Jones and his chances with Pats

Well, we used to have Mrs Bruschi post here, so...

Me, I love these homeristic pre season doldrum themes. Always adopt a couple binkies who sadly get cut.

Most definitely -- always surprised by people who seem to care enough about the team to post on a message board but don't feel that way. #losers

Edelman is NOT one of the best KR's in the league. He is far from being the best KR on the team. Both Washington and McCourty are much better. Edelman returned a total of 3 kicks last year.

I don't know many KORs worse than McCourty was last season (aside from the TD v the Jesters).

And PS: why wasn't Vereen ever tried as a KOR? He seemed the perfect candidate: backup RB with both
elusiveness and long speed to take it to the house. Had he succeeded, Woody would still be here, and
33-yo KOR-only Leon Washington would not.

Every player the Patriots have drafted in the first four rounds under Belichick has made the payroll his rookie year, and Kareem Brown is the only one who's been cut before his second offseason. So, yes, historically, they are locks.

There's a reason Austin Collie is still out there.

And how much would you be willing to pay Garçon? I doubt the Pats are gonna pay his scheduled $5.6M salary for 2013.

Thank you for the info on every player under the BB regime picked in the first four rounds - I did not know that. It makes trading down even more rational.

As for Collie, he's a slot receiver that probably is unnecessary unless a back-up to Amendola is needed because Edelman is hurt and can't go. Collie was decent but did not have much yards after the catch like Welker (but who did?)

I agree about Garcon and his 2013 number being exorbitant. His salary is exactly why he might get cut in DC and since he's guaranteed $1.8M in 2014, his two-year guaranteed cost is $7.4M, much more affordable, especially if the Patriots could renegotiate a 3rd year for a little more. You could get him for $3M/three years, and not break the bank.
