I'm surprised by this, not because Gonzo isnt amazing, but just because we suck a lot.

He is a stud tho, even if I didnt know the number, almost all plays ive watched of him, he was perfect

He got 2nd team becuase our D sucked.. had we been a top 10 unit gonzo would be where he belongs at 1st Team all pro. I think he's the best CB in the AFC.

There's a locked thread (from early in the season) where I predicted the Patriots would get 4 on the teams.

Gonzalez and Schooler are 2 of the ones I predicted. I also had Baringer and Marcus Jones because I thought, with Brissett as QB, the Patriots would be punting a lot, and that Marcus Jones would return to his All-Pro form from rookie year.

A lot of funny stuff was posted in those early season threads. A ton of people were down on Gonzalez and some others even saying we should have taken Braxton Jones instead.

Been following pro football since the early 60's. I have NEVER seen a cb have the start Gonzo has had in his 1st 2 seasons.
Nobody. Not any of the alltime greats not anyone in the nfl right now.
Not Haynes, Deion, Darrell Green, Law, Champ Bailey, Revis, etc etc.
His physical and mental skills are off the charts. If he can stay healthy, he's going to Canton.

Butler's first year was pretty special.

Absolutely love hearing your input. You have been watching football more than I have been alive so I definitely appreciate your insights. I'm not saying sauce, Surtain aren't great CBs.. as they are but they don't cover like gonzo does. Go figure sauce had had a top front 7 since he came into the league as has Surtain.. gonzo had a terrible front 7 this season and he still held his own.

Much deserved. Him and Maye appear to be the two foundation pieces to the team. Will be interesting to see how much Gonzo gets on his second contract.

Gonzalez definitely earned his all-pro selection. What a season he had playing on a rather poor defense for the most part. Thankfully he will lead that secondary for years to come.

A ST all-pro... ok congrats to Schooler but I prefer to see those come at more high impact positions.

All pro corner playing on a defense with next to nothing of a pass rush. Imagine him playing on a defense that can get after the qb.
