Now at even odds (+100). Aaron Donald second at +600. Too bad Jerome Booger took away a likely scoop-and-score TD from Steph or would be an even bigger favorite. Hope he finishes strong, or more accurately, that someone doesn't have some 5-sack game or something to get media hype. It's very hard for Gilmore to build a stronger case since he can't really "rack up" stats and is lucky to get a few passes near him each game.

I'm really rooting for this to happen, though. He deserves to make a mark on the history books for this season.

I care zero about these awards, but there’s a weird disconnect here. Dude’s not leading in the Pro Bowl voting and he’s a candidate for DPOY...

I was at the game in Cincy. Sitting near the field in the end zone. What a treat when Gilmore scored on his pick. He raced right at us and stopped to hold the ball out for us (I'm sure he was showing me the ball). What was Dalton thinking throwing toward Gilmore?

This guy is insane. Analizing him play is so wonderful, he sees the stuff we see on replay live.

I honestly feel like he's been the best FA pick up of BB's career. 2 rings and now possibly a DPOY. And there was a time when we felt like his contract was expensive

I mean, when guys have 4 to 5 catches - even is Gilmore covering - and they celebrate, you gotta be having a monstruous season.

Idiot fans vote for the pro bowl.
Idiot sports writers vote for these awards.

Nonetheless, I'd like to see him win, and I'm sure it would mean a lot to him as well. For one, he is completely deserving of the honor of the NFL's best defender. Looking at the list of contenders, it's basically ALL front 7 players with high sack totals and then Gilmore alone. It is so hard to do what he does and no one else near his level. In addition, a shutdown corner is so much more valuable than a sack specialist it isn't even debatable.

It's hard to imagine anyone else getting it at this point. He's a really special player and has been the best corner in football for two straight years. He's as good as Revis or Sherman at their heights.

Gilmore worthy of DPOY talk

he could end up with 10 ints next 2 gms

Ugh let's not waste his best years because of our handicap offense, I remember back in 2017 when he had a slow start a lot of people were panning the signing and contract give some of these dudes time remember James white etc.

Damian Harris and N'Keal Harry will more then likely be our next top guys up heading into the 20s, Harry is already flashing.

I think Harris is being stashed (White14/15) even JJ Williams is being stashed for 2020 remember he did good in his pre season showing we are just too deep at the positions and our guy Cowart hasn't been cut despite being inactive every week so that tells me he has some type of purpose in life in the Patriot world.

Good on the rest of the secondary for actually getting the qbs to throw his way

No doubt in my mind Gilmore should be the dpoy. No defensive player on any other team can come close to how he has dominated this year!

I agree. But it’s really hard to win as a CB or S. Revis never won (total joke), Sherman never won, Thomas never won. Woodson and Polamalu did but both play for the league’s sweetheart teams. But a defensive back wining the award is like a RB winning MVP. It almost always goes to a front 7 player, even though my strong suspicion is that a superstar cornerback would prove to be more valuable to a defense if someone did an advanced analysis.

He won't win because he plays for NE but man the guy is amazing. Who's leading CB in pro bowl voting if it's not him? Sherman?

It won’t have to do with playing for NE. It has to do with cornerbacks statistics being difficult to interpret and pass rushers being easy to add up.

Marcus Peters leads the AFC, I assume based entirely on his touchdown scoring ability.

Sherman leads the NFC.
