It's easy, and only takes a few moments. There's a lot of Sot WR's available in the Draft who would fit that McDaniels mold type Slots. Diggs and Pop ain't it: I just hope their not planning on keeping Diggs at his current price tag.To me the priority is guys who can get separation instantly. I think Maye was eating the ball because receivers weren't getting open before the pass rush was getting to him.
Boutte made some plays last year downfield, but defenses didn't really react to it. He didn't push safeties back. Pierce does that. Boutte would be better off as a Z, IMO.Gee I hope not I think Alec Pierce would be a mistake here. IF Boutte didn't get hurt he probably comes close to Pierce's numbers last season. And we haven't seen the Best of Kyle Williams.
Does that change with Diggs gone? That changes my opinion then. I would prefer Hendrickson over Pierce singe edge is a bigger need than wr.
Hopefully we sign Chaisson and Landry makes full recovery. Even then, still need a quality edge.
As for wr, still need one but I expect a step up from Williams.
The Dolphins… off the top of my head I can name another team that spent their entire wad on a QB and two shiny hood ornament WR’s.Again, there are next to no teams that are as dumb as the Bengals. They couldn't even sign their first round pick last year because they had ridiculous contract demands. First round contracts are nothing things now because they are slotted yet the Bengals couldn't sign Shemar Stewart until a week after training camp started.
My take was based on if Diggs was being brought back. Now I'm open to the Younger Pierce.Boutte made some plays last year downfield, but defenses didn't really react to it. He didn't push safeties back. Pierce does that. Boutte would be better off as a Z, IMO.
Pierce at X, Boutte as the Z and Williams in the slot using his quick release and speed would be an awesome WR group to move forward with IMO.
Watch DJ Moore have 1,300 yards with Josh Allen.. the wait continues for us..I think we can find a Alec Pierce in the Draft.
He has had a down couple of years (injured for a third of 2024), but was a very good TE before that. I didn't realize he isn't even 30 yet (turns 30 July 3rd). Might be a good short term pick up.
Hate seeing Allen with that kind of talent too.Watch DJ Moore have 1,300 yards with Josh Allen.. the wait continues for us..
Agreed.. and J. Cook and those dangerous TEs..Hate seeing Allen with that kind of talent too.
What is it about Diggs and Pop that make them unlike the slots the Patriots want? Both are excellent is small space, both are really good at finding the soft spot in zones. I'm not sure about Douglas taking a hit on a slant, but Diggs was not only fearless, he just doesn't get hurt taking big pops. There's a lot of Sot WR's available in the Draft who would fit that McDaniels mold type Slots. Welker IMO was the best regular season slot WR we had.. routinely putting up 100 plus catch seasons... Edelman separates from him due to his postseason performances.. Troy was amazing but played in a era where running the ball was priority..What is it about Diggs and Pop that make them unlike the slots the Patriots want? As I wrote elsewhere, the 3 best slot WRs we've had in this offense have been Troy Brown, Welker and Edelman. None of these guys did anything until their 5th year in the league.
