Formula For Greatness As A Slot WR

People don't realize that to play the slot you have to have big balls. They are going down the middle of the field and get hit a lot. Collie and Amendola aren't tough enough to do that. It's why there are few elite slot guys.

I wouldn't say that Amendola suffered a near death injury to his clavicle last season and Collie is one bad hit from being a vegetable, them going back on the field on its own is tough. I will knock a player for being injury prone with the best of them but I don't think any man makes it to the NFL without being tougher than 99% of the population.

Yeah, not like Amendola completely tore a tendon in his groin, continued to play, and caught three balls on the game-winning drive or anything like that.

Yes, I get that Amendola has had injuries. There's still nothing that remotely supports the notion that he's anything but tough. If you want to say he's not durable, then sure. If you say he's not tough, then that's just insulting.

Personally my obsession has been this kid ever since you opened the thread on him earlier this year.

Reggie Dunn:

I have no idea what he's like as a WR but I do wonder when he puts up numbers like that but doesn't get a chance. There is some real athletic upside on our offense though with Harrison (who I think has the best chance), Moe, Dunn and McGuffie. If even one of them makes it on this team then we've got ourselves a bargain.

You forgot:

Be able to catch the ball.

Be able to read defenses and be on the same page as your quarterback.

Have the agility to get open enough for your QB to make the throw.

Be strong enough to fight for YAC.

d%#*!@t! I thought you just needed to be short and white
