Former Patriots Coordinator McDaniels Has Denver QB Orton Off to a Record Start
By: Ian Logue

I came accross an interesting article this morning on former Patriots offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels, who has Denver quarterback Kyle Orton off to a record setting start this season....

Best Quarterback coach in the entire league.

Nice job Josh. We'll see what Baltimore has to say about things today.

Kudos to Josh. He was always trashed here by a lot of people primarily because he wasn't Charlie Weiss. I think what he has done with Matt Cassel and now Kyle Orton shows he played a huge role in the 2007 offense and without him, the Pats probably would never have had such a potent offense.

Right now, he looks like the only coach in the Belichick tree that might actually do anything as a head coach.

Orton against the Ravens (who previously had been giving up just 119.0 ypg):

23/38; 314 yards; 2 TD's - 0 INT's.

That's fantastic.

I don't think Josh gives a damn today

its a loss,Orton's stats are decent but irrelevant

Fantastic in that they had 39 yards rushing and lost by 2 touchdowns?
I guess yay for fantasy football and all, but really?
4th and 3 in the red zone, 12 minutes left in the 4th quarter and they're down 24-7 and they kick a field goal? Orton must be awesome...

McDaniels has shown he's legit in terms of knowing how to put up lots of yards and improving QB's. He's a top echelon offensive mind.

The Broncos through 20 games seem to have troubles in the red zone as well as establishing any consistent running game though, which also sounds familiar...

Dudes, you're missing the point. Yes, the only thing that matters is the W. That goes without saying and I fully agree. But look at their run game - teams are teeing off on Orton, but he's still playing very well and putting up good numbers. Just imagine if they had a decent run game and a defense.

Wait.....This thread isn't about Randy Moss.

Imagine if he played like this last year when they actually HAD a good defense and run game. Good luck to Orton and McDaniels this year!

Skippy, Orton & the rest of the donkeys are who I thought they were: frauds.

They should've beaten the Clots, but choked.

They weren't man enough for the Murderers (allegedly).

Can you do us at least one favor, Skippy, and beat the j-e-s-t for us, after all that Bill's done for you?

Then you can go ahead and lose the rest of the games on your schedule (exc. maybe the Faiders).

BTW, do we owe Seattle our own 4th or the donkeys' 4th?

Just for funsies, top 5 rushing teams all have winning records and the top 6 defenses all only have 1 loss each.

So ya, your QB throwing a ton of yards is really something you want!!! (On your fantasy team...)
We can also conclude that Brady and Freeman are the only really good QBs since they don't have a top defense, a top rush, and they aren't throwing for a billion yards, yet they only have 1 loss!

Why would you NOT kick the field goal there? If you make the field goal it's a 2 possession game. If you go for it and get a touchdown it's still a... (wait for it) 2 possession game.

Just wish their defense wasn't so banged up or they might have a chance at knocking off the Jets. The running game is ugly too, but not like you can run much on NY anyway. Revis is hurting again and you can get some points through the air on that D, so we'll see if he's up to the challenge. Might come down to the OL holding up... let's actually hope that for once they play dirty like they're known to.

because you haven't been able to stop Rice all day, so you can expect that they will probably eat up 4-6 minutes on the ensuing drive and at least score a FG themselves making TDs premium points.
