Forget the game result: How cool was that trick play?

rather have seen see it in the play-offs, not a loss to the eagles. They wasted it imo

Sadly, I agree. The stadium went NUTS. only to go dead silent a play later. A waste. In a win that play becomes legend.

If I'm the defender on that play I go for Brady very hard. If the Pats wants to use Brady as a WR/runner then I'm treating him like one.
Yeah. He probably had the Urlacker juke going through his head and played it safe.

Gotta be one of BB and McD's best play calls. Brady isn't that slow, one hell of a run. Should be considered for an Oscar for that acting job. Wonder if that play originally was for Edelman to throw.
I find it hard to care but.... if you watch one of the replays closely they show Brady's face when he is doing the fake audible stuff, and he is clearly is already smiling with this **** eating grin on his face, knowing he is about to go out for a pass.

I'm sure that's why (a) it's outside route, and (b) Brady kept drifting toward the sideline after the catch. There's no way that's not planned to end with him either stepping OOB or sliding once anyone gets near him.

It reminded me of one of those plays they keep in their pocket to save the season, like "Baltimore" and "Raven" and the double pass. So I told my son I was bummed out they had to show it now and not in some bigger moment of need. But I guess last night qualified on some level.

So where's all the criticism of this play being "disrespectful" and "arrogant"? To the extent either play was (which is "hardly at all"), this one was moreso.

From what I've seen from Brady I'm not sure I would trust him to take it out, though he was definitely leaning that way as you said. I cringe every time he runs a QB sneak and ends up on the bottom of the pile.

You know what was the worst thing about that play though? The camera angle never showed it live and the announcers were yapping about something else. Gee I miss the good old days of football broadcasting.

Damn, wish we hadn't lost that game. Would have made that play call legendary.

You forgot classless. LaClassian and Brunell must have been crying.

Stuff like that and the way Brady sneaks for TDs and first downs, and smiles at opponents after getting first downs and stuff is part of why he is so great. He just cares so much about the games. No excuse for his **** ups yesterday, (well except maybe that he has no weapons right now) but his heart is unmistakable. His fight is unreal. (Just look at him beating Goodell like a mule). I loved Larry Bird, and it does all end at some point just like with him, so I am going to appreciate it now. There will never be another Tom Brady.

Forget the trick play, how about that L against the eagles at home tho? Just kidding, kind of. The play was cool but the play after it plus the end result of the game kinda makes the play completely irrelevant.

The trick play was awesome. Had the desired effect of firing up the team and the crowd and making the Eagles look foolish. Too bad it was wasted by the next play and the outcome of the game...

Well going by some people's logic it was pure arrogance that just happened to work

I didn't think it was arrogant at all. It was definitely in the vein of the Baltimore plays last year. If we run it up by 2 TDs, THEN you might say arrogant.

Was a great trick play, kinda wish we saved it for the playoffs. Or had a better gameplan on how to follow up on it.
I remember thinking this. If we get another documentary, I'd be interested to know if the coaches even wanted to use it there.

"Anytime Tom Brady lines up on the outside the defense is on their heels Mike. Look at the speed and determination. One of the great deep threats that has ever played this game."
