So the tally is 6 NFL, 3 Euro Soccer and 1 MLB. Thought the Yanks would be higher. I think they made a mistake after 8 and omitted the next 50 teams. Seriously how is a dysfunctional team that is over-committed to spending worth 1.17 billion? The laugher is that they are 10 million short of the Giants, who have a SB while they have a BF

Nice list but I have no idea how they calculated it (or if they did). Real Madrid are a members club - they can't be bought - so how are they valued? Patriot's placing looks about right though - an amazing turnaround from the early 1990s.

Nice list but I have no idea how they calculated it (or if they did). Real Madrid are a members club - they can't be bought - so how are they valued? Patriot's placing looks about right though - an amazing turnaround from the early 1990s.

Real Madrid still has shares and whatnot, they're just not traded publicly (compared to franchises like the Patriots or Yankees, where all shares are held by a single person or group). The Green Bay Packers are also a members' club, and they can be valued. I assume the net worth takes into account revenue per year (Real Marid makes around $500 million) plus value of assets, such as the stadium. That's probably why the Texans are so high; their stadium is brand new and is worth quite a bit.
