The most interesting aspect of this information is not the news itself, but the public reaction. Forbes makes a list based on an estimate - i.e., a guess - and look at what happens. Hundreds of columns are written by various members of the sports media, plus thousands of message board comments and blog articles.
All based on a unsubstantiated guess at how much money somebody makes.
I come away from this with two thoughts. First, the lockout and lack of free agency has made NFL media and fans so hungry for something, anything football related that they're like vultures on fresh roadkill on any NFL-related news. And second, Bill Belichick is still a magnet for sports news articles. Which is ironic, because he gets more publicity while trying to avoid it than a certain other coach does while do everything in his power to stay in the headlines.
