As for you singling me out here, I've been over the "disconnected" thing time and again, noting that I didn't really care about the article itself one way or another. However, here's my initial post in the Silver thread that's apparently so controversial that we've got to keep on about it all this time later:

Thank Goodness Silver wrote a piece that's not all about the happy-happy times in joy-joy land. Now a national writer can be vilified for a little while. That will give the locals a break.

I made 5 posts in that thread. None took a position about the "disconnect" itself.

Any disconnect, if it exists, is irrelevant. Brady will be back with the team because the Patriots will franchise him if it comes down to that. I've noted that on multiple occasions.

It's not about "tenor", it's about content. The same crap happens no matter who's writing the discouraging word. Even Reiss has gotten the "Well, he USED to" sort of treatment, although it was much milder.

An all world, underpaid receiver wanting more money going while going into year 4 of 5 is hardly content. It's called negotiating. What next, the sun in the east thing?
