Football Outsiders on the 2009 Patriots opponents

I've often argued that while 2007 was fun to watch, 2006 was truly Brady's most impressive season.

For Brady to have led the Pats to the 5th most efficient passing attack in the league that year (by DVOA, natch) with the motley crew of JAGs he was throwing to -- that just shouldn't be possible.

I think that season could go down as the most overlooked all-time-great season in sports history.

i agree. it's still hard for me to believe (a) that the Pats let that happen and (b) that he took them so far with what he had and (c) that they were up 21--3 in the game that would have sent them to a Super Bowl date with the 2006 Bears. He did all that anyone could have asked that year...and way more.

^^^ I agree. I do think that 2006 was probably Brady's best year as a QB.
