Per a league source, there are multiple cases currently under investigation when it comes to fake injuries.

Great there goes our first rounder again.

At least 4 1st rounders, just ask the people that ban people for protecting themselves.

Giants did that crap in both of our Super Bowls iirc.

Easy fix, injured guy has to sit out for 15 minutes of playing time.

So anyone that does it in the 4th quarter is done.

Call it a “player safety” issue rather than a “anti faking it” issue.

Player can come back if the team uses a TO.

Willie McGinest did it too...
Exactly. 55 did it and we all called it excellent gamesmanship which it was and is. The league has an addiction to the over legislation over the game. Letting some of these rules, especially the defensive ones, go would breathe new life into the game.

Pretty ridiculous to strip draft picks for what's typically just an individual player's actions. Fining players makes sense.

What if a coach told them to do it?

More stupidity by the NFL

Why not just allow the referee to use a 10 second runoff?

Players have been faking injuries to stop the clock and/or to get substitutions for as long as I have been watching football. Not sure why it is an issue now.

....or let's it make it like soccer and add extra time.

We want it to be fair for everyone.

I personally like the timeout lost or player sits out x minutes or x plays. They shouldn't be penalized if they are hurt, but you shouldn't be rewarding stuff like this. If they are truly hurt they come off the field. Make it effective the last 5 minutes of each half.

Good idea, but I'd make it "injured guy out" until the ball changes possession.

I was originally going to suggest 3 plays or something like that, but it'd be hard to keep track of that. Change of possession would be a good deterrent.
