Flores a coach again.

I don't feel like Flores dragged Bill into anything.
As I understand it Bill was texting the wrong Brian.
He claimed that Bill influenced the Giants to choose Daboll.
He does not know that for a fact. He is just throwing crap against the wall to try and strengthen his case.
He had every right to expose Bill’s blunder email, but to suggest Bill did the influencing of hiring Daboll is childish and ridiculous.
That to me is dragging someone into your many allegations when all he probably did was give a good word about Daboll just as he probably did with Flores when he went to Miami

Smart move by that scumbag Tomlin...now he has a fall guy on the defensive coaching side to do his in game tripping of opposing players that are beating his pathetic defensive secondary....

The mistake BB seemingly made was misreading the text messages from his source, and thinking that Flores got the job instead of Daboll, which is why replied to Flores that he f ed up, only after rereading the original his source’s text.

To pretend that Flores did nothing wrong is incorrect, however, if it is true that Flores never gave BB a heads-up, even as a simple curtesy, to inform him that he planned to use that text exchange as a key piece of evidence.

I also thought that it was really low class and self-serving of him to put out a statement through his lawyer initially congratulating Lovie Smith but in the very next sentence saying that he obviously would have been offered the job instead of Smith, if not for the Texans (in his eyes) discriminating against him because of the lawsuit. I supported Flores in his lawsuit , other than blindsiding Bill, but he seems to have gone off of the rails a bit, into “everyone is out to get me” territory. His new complaint that the Texans discriminated against him has little basis in fact.

Yeah until those comments about bb influencing the giants decision i actually thought flores might wind up back here in some capacity. But that kinda burned any bridge he had back here , if there even would have been a mutual interest.

So you're saying in the never ending battle of who I hate the most the Ravens have passed the Steelers again?

Who we hate the most. What a great idea. I'll go first.
Indy and the Ratbirds are tied for 1st.
Next is the NFC.
After that who cares?

let me help you here:

Indy and the Ratbirds are tied for 1st.
2d: Jester team
3d: Jesters coaches
4th: Jesters fans (is that hate or pity?; I forget).
5th. Tie: Chefs & Squeelers. ( here not sure how much is „hate“ vs simply „disrespect“
After that who cares?

———WHY?? Next is the NFC
i mean I cold see the Phish and Jills here at 6th right before The Who cares, or lump them all in Who Cares. But not sure what the NFC entire conf has done to earn ire.

oh wonderful gonna have to hear the pink hats and doom & gloomers cry every time someone converts a 3rd down against the Pats defense next year about how he was available.

but let's make this clear: flores made himself unavailable to belichick and the patriots the second he implied belichick had influence over who the giants hired. why the hell would bill bring back a guy that he gave an opportunity almost 20 years ago (belichick was the only coach flores worked under in football until he got the lolphins job) and the guy spits in his face and basically partly blames him for not getting hired by the giants.

would much rather jerod mayo get the dc title and be the head coach in waiting than flores,

It's Steeler and Ravens for me. Indy in many ways is a better version of the Jets. Sure they'beaten us but overall it's a one sided rivalry. So I welcome all the hate from those Pennsatucky rednecks. And I know there's the entire deflategate fiasco with those two teams but that was on owners hatred and Bob bowing down for me.

If the Raiders or Fins ever got consistently good again they could rise back up. As a kid with all the beatings we took at their hands coupled with Tatum, Drief and the original win through the competition commitee @sshat Shula I hated them by far the most.

I think you're putting too much faith in Belichick's explanation.

The people in Buffalo would not know which way the Giants were going before Flores if Flores was the selection.

Flores's claim is not exactly what you said. He didn't say Belichick had a hand in the Giants pick. He said that part of the problem is Belichick using his influence behind the scenes to recommend hires. In other words, there's an inside network that Belichick is a part of and this tends to reproduce the very problem Flores was complaining about.

While I agree with you that such criticism prevented Flores from ever coming back to work with Belichick, I don't think Flores is wrong.

I've seen McVay now coach twice in a Super Bowl, and both times he committed coaching malpractice. Zac Taylor too. These people come from inside the NFL private circles, frequently the sons of former GMs, etc. They aren't self-made men like Brian Flores. This is what he's talking about.

I think Belichick has a right to freeze Flores out just for the legal mess alone, if that's what even happened, or if it ever even occurred to him to think of Flores as a possible hire.

But both Flores and Belichick know that Jerod Mayo is the next in line on the defensive side, and Belichick was not going to stymie May by bringing in Flores again.

I don't see what is wrong with getting advice or talking with coaches & players about someone you are interested in hiring.
Nearly every company in the world has this practice. In the end, it is the hiring team must make the final decision,.

How do you know if the person you are hiring is not a JEKYLL and HYDE??

I see every other team filling out their coaching staff. Who will be left when Bill decides to get back to work? Isn't the draft soon?
Why doesn't Bill retain staff like some other teams do? Compensation?

BB is very altruistic and his love of the game compels him to mentor the leagues aspirants.
BK calls it VOLUNTEERISM

That's a version to cover up Bill's obvious blunder. He thought he was texting Daboll. Otherwise why would he hear from Buffalo that Flores was getting the job when he hadn't even interviewed. He came back with the "I fvked up & misread the text" AFTER BFlo informed him he was texting him instead of Daboll. Bill realized he ****ed up and tried to rectify it w/ BFlo.

I do agree Bill had nothing to do with the NYG decision but his texts are telling that he knew the decision before BFlo even interviewed. Texts are bearing to his case against NYG that his interview was a sham.

Probably because Kraft gives him a budget for coaching staff ($25M) and after he takes his $20M cut, there isn't enough to pay experienced coaches so he hires his kids, inexperienced assistants, and friends of BB.

The puzzling thing is that McD was purportedly getting paid way more than other OCs so once he left, there should've been money left on the table. Unless he took some of that for himself under the "I'm calling the O plays" myself argument. We don't need no stinking OC.

We don’t know how long the delay was in between text messages…ie. if it took BB a while to come up with his “I misread the texts”, that would be an indication that he had been occupied with “Operation damage control”. These coaches likely talk to teams informally before visiting them and it is probably pretty common for teams to have a good idea whom they are going to hire before the formal interviews commence. From what I’ve read, Mara was very interested in hiring Flores, when he first became available.

Maybe Belichick was in the middle of dinner or about to get freaky nasty with Linda when he received the text messageS and he didn’t read them carefully enough. On the other hand, it is definitely possible that you are correct, that Bill was covering for himself and his sources with that reply. It is possible that we will learn the truth, if BB is forced to testify in court (if the suit gets to that point).

Fine, but this I refuse to believe.
