Finding myself rooting FOR Jacoby... and AGAINST Jimmy...

Not tonight at least. The jury's still a ways out on him, though. He is gifted with a quick release that will serve him very successfully as time goes on.
Yeah but he has zero pocket awareness and panics at the first sight of pressure. He’s gotta show more poise than that. Jimmy is a real problem for them right now.

Really like the guy but damn they rushed to give him a lot of money off just a few good games.

Ok - true confessions time. I was rooting for the hated Seattle Seahawks to win last night so our undefeated regular season would stay intact. Sorry Jimmy G!
Mrs Shula?

Was thinking the same thing as I watched... he threw off his back foot under pressure. Reminded me of Darnold... which made me look something up... surprisingly...

...Jimmy and Darnold each have exactly the same amount of career starts: 19.

And THAT made me look up something ELSE... when was Brady making his 19th career start? Seems it was right in the middle of maybe the worst 4-game stretch in his career... the 4-game losing streak in 2002.

Where am I going with this? I'll TELL you where I'm going...

...as soon as I figure it out myself. o_O

Comments that YOU started. Weird is right.
No, Trischlumpf -- it started in the OP and you eagerly picked up on it with your bizarre "golden boy" and "man bun" blather.

Hah keep us up to date. Didn’t Brady have issues facing pressure coming off his ACL tear? Jimmy looks a lot worse post injury than he did previously.

Gotta think he comes around eventually but may not be this season. Won’t solve all of his problems but hopefully he won’t be so jumpy.

From epiphany to apophany at the speed of confundity.
Time for more coffee?

You are relentlessly passive aggressive. I said that. And the reason I said it is not cause of his looks which I have never mentioned, but because he dates porn stars and is suppose to be the face of a 4 billion dollar business. If you don’t think that guys that date porn stars and are franchise qbs aren’t a bit douchy that’s fine but don’t misrepresent what I said.
This was more of an “in general” post than aimed specifically at you. I think the whole porn star thing got a little blown up and it’s not like he was the one advertising it. Regardless I will root for him some others won’t and life will go on either way.

Kittle has had a terrible season thanks to Jimmy.

Here come all the excuses that Jimmy doesnt have talent around him. RBs are hurt, TE is out. Need a OL and a new OC. Another Union Army Colonel Andrew Luck only Jimmy is the Bugle Boy with GQ looks.
Lol what? He’s 4th in receiving yards, 3rd in ypg, and 5th in receptions. Do you even read what you post?

Contributing to his being "jumpy": suddenly adjusting to not having Kittle and Sanders, his two top targets, would be like Brady playing a game last year without Gronk and Edelman. His LT was eaten alive by Clowney, who was in his face all night and the 49ers OL had a pretty bad outing overall. Being forced off your spot in the pocket and side-stepping the rush works when receivers adjust accordingly and the QB knows where his targets will be. There were some key drops, one leading to a pick. Where Garoppolo looked bad was not throwing the ball away with nothing there and forcing throws into the zone, a couple of which should've been intercepted.

Clowney created problems wherever he lined up. He was a man amongst boys out there last night.

Or this year, with everyone healthy!!!! :D

I don’t know how he “regressed” unless you’re counting 5 quarters of football here? He’s been inconsistent to an extent but he is also missing his All-Pro TE and recently acquired number one receiver. He definitely has room for improvement but there seems to be a good amount of patriots fans who root for him to fail.

I don't really care either way about him now that he's gone, but he definitely looked lost out there last night.

Watching those two teams last night gives me more confidence about the Pats chances if they can get to the SB.

Last night definitely wasn’t a great showing. Didn’t look comfortable in the pocket all night.

Actually Brady was worse later in the 2009 season than earlier in that year.

True. He had a clutch TD drive in the opener vs Buffalo.

I think the problems with that team went way beyond Brady. Hardest Patriot team to like in the BB/Brady era.

An interesting take I took from the graphic of him being 16-2 (that was the stat, right, can't remember) after his first 18 starts was this........

How often does a guy's first 18 starts come over the course of 4 seasons when he was drafted to be a franchise qb?

Bottom line though......yes, I was rooting for Jimmy last night. It was actually the first time in awhile that I've actually watched a San Fran game.

As others have pointed out though, the word I used to describe him to my brother was 'skittish'. Even on plays that he was making he just seemed like it was 'controlled chaos'. He didn't exactly inspire confidence. It was only one game and he was without two of his top weapons (Kittle and Sanders) so I should probably cut him some slack.

Last night definitely wasn’t a great showing. Didn’t look comfortable in the pocket all night.

It seemed like a combination of everything against him last night. He's still learning.
