It was depressing to see how bad he was here. I always thought he was a decent slot corner for Atlanta.

People will freak if Wayne is cut, but it's all about him not being for Week One and guaranteeing his contract.

That doesn't make any sense though.

He already got a signing bonus, and his contract is incentive-based.

I'm told Tom Brady will make the team and will see the field quite a bit.

He already got a signing bonus, and his contract is incentive-based.

His full 2015 salary is guaranteed if he's on the Week 1 roster. It's not if he's not.

Rob, I do respect your opinion and understand it. However, Branch has been particularly good at that either. Teams were still able to run the ball at will with him in games. Now, I will admit there are other factors obviously, but it does not really change my opinion that he's underwhelming. He did not pass his physical on top of the lackadaisical play. I think his size and BB's preference to keep depth at the position (unlike 2013, IIRC) will be the prevailing factors for why he sticks if he sticks.

If Branch was a ball of fire, we wouldn't have him, couldn't afford him and certainly couldn't afford him to be a role player in a defense that has phased his type of DT out. He can play in the league and he was signable. Many, many DTs are somewhat lethargic, it's goes with being that big.

That's why guys with that body type and fire, technique and intelligence are rare and worth lots of money - draft position.

Makes plenty of sense.. It means that his 1.1M salary isn't guaranteed.. It also saves the the Roster Bonus that was due as well..

I see. Josina Anderson's the one at ESPN with the Patriots source.

I'll believe it when I see it on the transactions page. Unless they traded him for another WR, they actually need him week 1.

Unless they're running Cadet out there at WR, I suppose.
