Exactly. Look at the last sideline shot - the 2 receivers on the right are only 2-3 yards apart depth-wise, and the middle throw is actually shorter and easier for Kaepernick. How can you blame Dennard for being unable to decide which of the sure TD's he should try to defend?

Clearly McCourtey made the error here, jumping the single pattern to the left when there were 2 receivers going deep on the opposite side. With those patterns being run, Davis has to be his man. He's a new safety, he'll learn.

I don't mean this to be snarky, but was there anyone who was blaming Dennard? I hadn't seen any threads like that.

Not threads, but people did blame him in the game thread.
