While contemplating injuries is almost always unpleasant, I do occasionally find it amusing to start a discussion on the question of who the emergency backups are if one unit is suddenly devasted by an epidemic of in-game injuries.
Here are the ones that seem easy:
K -- either Welker or, more likely, whoever the punter is
P -- Gostowski, although he came to kicking late in life -- can Welker punt too?
LS -- Hochstein (he had the role before)
QB -- Troy again. Among non-QBs, he knows the offense wayyy better than anybody except Faulk, and he was the choice last year. If he's on PUP, then it's Faulk.
WR -- Faulk and the TEs.
DT -- the DEs
DE -- the bigger LBs
CB -- the safeties, Troy
S -- the CBs, A. Thomas
LB -- the ST-specialist LBs, the strong safeties
