Excellent (not a Felger/Borgie tongue bath) Borges interview on WEEI

I love how Borges claims that he didn't write parts of the article and it was collaborative effort as if he just provided details and the writer wrote the piece based on his info. The thing is there is a dramatic shift in the tone of the writing from the Hernandez specific stuff and the Patriots related stuff. The Patriots related stuff have a lot of Borges' snarkiness while the rest of the article is more of straight reporting.

I also love how Borges twists his whole article to defend himself. When Minehan asked him about him writing that Kraft saying he was duped was "arrant nonesense". Borges denied it, but defended the quote because he felt it was a lie that Kraft said no one in the organization knew about it. Yet Kraft didn't speak about the organization and the Rolling Stone article says that Kraft said he was duped with no mention of the organization. Here is the exerpt from the RS article:

In his first remarks after Odin Lloyd’s murder, Robert Kraft described himself as “duped” by Hernandez, saying he’d had no knowledge of his troubles. That is arrant nonsense: Every team knew him as a badly damaged kid with a circle of dangerous friends and a substance problem. Once a Patriot, Hernandez practically ran up a banner that said STOP ME! I’M OUT OF CONTROL!

And everyone knew this guy was so out of control, I am sure the local beat writers would have known about it. They might have reported it, but they would have had known a lot more than they have admitted to up to this point.

What I do not get in the piece done by Borges is who gave the info regarding that BB was going to let AH go unless he straightened out??

BB would probably not divulge a private conversation with a player, let alone to Borges??

AH was not available.. so could it have been hearsay that he reported??

Borges is a useless tool.. maybe he can punch some cripple, oh wait a minute.

Bingo.

Neither Belichick nor Hernandez were sources for the article, rendering any accounts of conversations or interactions between them highly suspect.

Hey, if you cannot plagiarize, might as well make up stuff.

I know this is stupid to ask, but did Wrong ever refute or even answer the plagiarism claim?

Using his own rationale, how do we know that Ron Borges has never put on a KKK robe and burned a cross on someone's lawn? There is no way to prove he has never done that.

Exactly. You could say *anything* using that as cover.

"Ron Borges has said that he does pole dancing as a hobby in his spare time."

"What!?? Where did he ever say THAT?"

"Well, have you heard EVERYTHING that he's ever said? How do you know he DIDN'T say that!?? Hmmmmmm?????"

That, right there, was the "logic" Borges used this morning.

:bricks:

Agreed.
And Borges certainly does get touchy when his "facts" are questioned..as well he might since he can't cite a source or back up his claims. A huge pos indeed.

In years of listening to BB pressers, I've never heard him say anything about "The Patriot Way."

It does seem like Borges goes with the outrageous response if any of his opinions or assertions are questions.

I remember a few years ago he was on EEI with Ordway and was saying how the Patriots never re-sign their good young players and always let them walk. Ordway responded with "What about Wilfork?" (This would have been shortly after Wilfork's new contract.) Borges response was something along the lines of "Yeah, but look at the guy. He could keel over any minute." Ordway went with "Oh, c'mon now, Ron."

That was his tactic, though. When his claim was challenged, Borges' defense was that the guy who was used to disprove his theory could drop dead at any moment.

I'd say he's the worst, but there's a lot of "worst" out there.
