ESPN thinks the Edelman rule would have applied to Edelman

Guys, let's be honest with ourselves. Edelman was concussed after that hit and he played like a warrior for the rest of the game. If the league doesn't want that sort of thing happening any more it's between them and the players union. I don't think this is an anti-patriots rule at all. There are plenty of other things to point to in that category.

It may not be an anti-patriots rule but when it happens to the Patriots people notice. When it happens to another team nobody really cares. No one said a peep about Wilson's more devastating hit. Edelman and Wilson both went thru the same protocol where they were both checked out and then sent back on the field. Only Edelman's hit is being scrutinized. Wilson's more devastating hit is not.

This reminds me of Boxing. 1: A boxer gets knocked out and gets the 8 count, fight over. 2: A boxer gets his bell rung and can not defend himself and gets the standing 8 count 3: A boxer gets his bell rung but is able to defend himself and keeps fighting

I think Edelman falls in the third category. Yes, he got his bell rung but he was still able to function fully as a football player. This new protocol was put in because of the Patriots and it's almost a sure bet that it will be used against the Patriots at a most critical point in any future playoff or SB game

ESPN's brain trust has also recently discovered that Lou Gehrig may have in fact had Lou Gehrig's disease.

Fascinating and insightful!
