Ok, I know biatching about guys like Cris Carter and Tom Jackson and their biased views against the Patriots is overkill at this point and like shooting fish in the barrell, but their analysis of the Pats/Broncos match up is laughable.

They spend all this time talking about how the Pats will have problems moving the ball because Von Miller makes their defense so much better. And then they argue that Brady will struggle because this is his worst season ever and he isn't up to the challenge. No mention of most of his bad stats were do to no Gronk, Vereen, or Amendola who are all back and healthy and his primary receivers were two rookies who struggled in primary roles and are excelling in supporting roles.

So, they explain away the Broncos poor defensive performances by the addition of Von Miller, but downgrade Brady's current performance because of his struggles when he was playing short handed.

Adding insult to injury, Keyshawn threw in that Brady's poor performance against Carolina should be concerning. Huh?!? Brady had a very good game on Monday night. The Pats lost despite his performance.

Only Ray Ray and Ditka actually said the additions of Gronk and Vereen especially have made the Pats' offense completely different.

EDIT: ESPN hates the Pats so much that Ditka picked the Pats and they still gave his pick to Denver on the graphics.

I actually don't watch ESPN any more and I don't miss it at all. Their Patiots hate is so incredibly obvious that it doesn't make any sense to pay any attention to What they have to say.

I watched it for the Welker interview and I guess I will watch the totally slanted "Patriots Way" piece where a bunch of disgruntled former players will trash Belichick for dumping them.

ESPN lost all credibility to me when their magazine predicted the Patriots going 9-7. I think at this point they just want to see the Patriots fall hard.

I haven't watched ESPN since their heavily slanted spygate coverage. Haven't missed a step I see, still the same old crap 'analysis' as before.

The lack of substance in the analysis by most of the so-called experts is deplorable, but I suppose it can be explained by business decisions.

At the risk of sounding elitist, I will say this: the bread and butter of the sports networks are casual fans who not only have a very shallow understanding of the game, but no genuine interest in learning more of the intricacies of the game. Most people that watch football are far more interested in gossip and off-field topics than X's and O's. Superficial commentary and oft-repeated clichés are right up their alley; too much detail could cause boredom and a switch of the channel.

I don't watch the pre game shows anymore and haven't for a very long time. They are not unbiased at all and I feel I know more about the game then some of these so called media. The mistakes they make are s obvious and glaring, not just about the Patriots but about football in general. Besides I hate Jackson , Carter and Ditka . There hatred for the Patriots is completely un reasonable.
Jackson hates BB since he made that remark 'they hate their coach' after Milloy was traded and they lost to the Bills 31-0 or whatever it was ! That was so long ago that Jackson needs to get over it. He started the feud with BB not the other way around !!!

This shouldn't be news to anyone here

I'm afraid your right. It's about creating "Heros" and selling Jerseys and getting sponsers. Creating controversy is a big ratings grabber.

I heard also on the radio today that pats offense had trouble vs carolina this week. Even Dan Patrick said pats got man handled when tom curran corrected him that they killed themselves on each drive and their shortest drive was 8 plays. Does this mean much today? dont think so. Denver plays a lot of man defense which might be a challenge for us since its something which troubles us usually but this logic of ESPN is expectedly useless.
12 -13 yrs when i started following this game of football and got hooked i was a sucker for these ESPN shows but they have gone consistently downhill and after spygate i dont watch ESPN show at all.

BTW for those who watched this crap show today, did they have the 'Patriot Way or Highway' segement? How horrible was that?

Chris Carter and Tom Jackson? Seriously?

Since we watch the team, I'm not sure why anyone cares about what lazy national reporters say about the team. It's not as if they are going to be making blocks and tackles. They're there to sell beer and corn chips.

Maybe I'm in the minority but I've never taken what these talking heads have to say on ESPN seriously.

These kinds of shows are completely scripted and the opinions they give are from their cue cards and not based on what they really think.

And let's face it if they seem anti-Patriots it's because a lot of fans are and they're just giving fans what they "want".

yep, I put as much stock into what they say as I do the lame Spygate clowns on football forums..

Agreed, these shows are designed to generate discussion and debate, I wouldn't be surprised if most were specifically told an opinion to give, and/or they select people knowing their differing views. Watch these shows for any length of time and you can see the people who actually know what they're talking about vs people with pretty clear agendas and a blatant disregard for reason.

LOL, I guess completing 75 percent of your passes and scoring on basically every drive except two where you had a fumble and a 15 yard penalty means you had a poor game.

Everybody should do what I did early 2 seasons ago, avoid the pre-game shows completely. The anti-Patriot agenda, often from ex-players who still have a bitter taste in their mouth is beyond pathetic.

Keyshawn's a moron, I've heard him speak a couple times on these shows and its always something other than reality.

On NFL network last night they were talking about how Peyton should win, and if he doesn't it is another knock against him.

I don't think it's mediot logic as much as it shows the complete takeover of fantasy stats in the assessment of player excellence. Right after the game, I was watching a fantasy show on NFL Network, and the guys were talking about what a bad game Brady had.

Brady was near perfect except for the pass on 3rd and 1.

The 4 incompletions prior to the last drive was really 1 incompletion, as there were three drops.

If you're not throwing TD passes, you suck. That's the NFL for you. It doesn't matter if you have almost flawless drives and rushing TDs. No one cares. The rushing TD is only good for the RB, even if the RB is 4 rushing attempts for 4 yards and 4 TDs.
