Some of this is ridiculous. Yes, of course the Jets are iffy, rookie QB and all.
But Shonn Greene vs. Maroney?
I liked Greene at Iowa and Maroney has not produced as hoped, but still we're talking a first year guy running behind a line built for running. Thomas Jones was let go a few times, and he became a stud behind that line. Reminds me of the Broncos line. Greene is a powerful runner, but he can only run straight ahead. On any move to the outside, his 4.7 40 speed doesn't cut it. I'd call him a useful back on the order of a younger Sammy Morris, but not anything more than that. No, I do not count Shonn Greene as a plus in this weigh in. I may prefer him to Maroney, but not to the pre-fumble Maroney who was running hard and running people over. Unfortunately, that Maroney was a rare thing.
Revis vs. Bodden?
Faneca vs. Mankins? OK, that's close
I take Mankins over the guy longer in the tooth than our Neal.
Light vs. Ferguson?? Well??
Light, outside of his injury, played really well this year (except against the Ravens). Honestly, I can't judge Ferguson. I thought he was a questionable pick coming out of college, and I haven't kept up. He may very well be better than Light especially because Light is getting on in age. Heck, we might want to compare Ferguson to Vollmer instead. Who would you prefer?
How about Harris vs. the wrecked knee (hopefully he comes back) Mayo?
I take last year's Mayo over this year's Harris. An MCL tear is not a wrecked knee. It's not an ACL.
Cotchery vs. Aiken?
I mean no offense, but come on...you can still be a Pats fan if you admit that they are better at a few positions.
