I think as the season unfolds, we will also see Rowe playing a lot of special teams, and when Brady, Nink and any PUPpies return, a guy like King or Bolden could be in the firing line.

This also leads me to believe they have confidence in Karas. He is now the swing interior lineman and back-up center.

Mongo just pawn in game of football.

This sounds like a steal for the pats, it also reminds me of being a celtics fan when Red Auerbach was on the top of his game and was pulling off one sided trades.

Do they really put him out there on Sunday?

Well Karras would still be the 5th IOL and possibly 6th if Tre Jackson comes back from PUP, so while it says the team believes he belongs, I don't think its the basis for the trade.

Don't the Pats have to check with the NFL* front office first on conditional picks, to see if the NFL* has dibs on the pick for confiscation purposes?

The NFL is too busy around season-start to figure out which violation they'll fabricate next, so they didn't bother responding this time.

He will only come in as a 4th corner, so maybe 5-10 snaps total. Wouldn't mind having his size out there in those situations.

Interesting.

Love it.

The pats overstocked interior o line and now converted that into value. They had 10 offensive linemen - one more than usual - and were a player light on defense.
They added another athlete to the defense. They added a young player on minimum salary for three years for a player they probably would not re-sign.
They added a developmental defensive back when Ryan and Harmon are heading toward unrestricted free agency.
They added some height to a short group of corners. Note that Rowe is fully four inches taller than LeBlanc.
He might be a safety but his three cone and shuttles were really quick for a player with his height.

Delighted with this move.
