Ed Werder: Favre to Start on Sunday

it was said by a doc not by king. what i saw on sunday was everytime he threw a complete pass or a (reversed) game winning TD, he ran around like a little kid. all other cases he was limping. Same with the jet game. All first half he keeps holding his elbow and the suddenly it goes away in the 2nd half. no one is saying he is faking injury. but it wouldnt be beyond him to play it up more than what it is.

After the saints NFC champ game last yr , he and his agent released pics of all the bruises he suffered from the hits. For what ? Brady before the ACL has played through seperated shoulder, sports hernia, elbow injuries and what not. But not until the offseason has anyone ever spoken about it including brady.

I stand corrected.

The consecutive starts streak is impressive from a physical toughness standpoint, but there have been times where Favre starting actually hurt his team.

That assumes the Vikings have a better option at QB. Prior to landing Favre, I expect Childress would have brought Fran Tarkenton back on the active roster over Tavaris. It was amazing how difficult it was for the Vikings to find even a decent starter under Chilly.

The consecutive starts streak is impressive from a physical toughness standpoint, but there have been times where Favre starting actually hurt his team. In 2008 he played like absolute garbage down the stretch and if his arm was as hurt as he says it was, he should have sat. There comes a point where playing through injury can be detrimental to your team and trying to play can actually be selfish. Favre was already playing poorly before this injury; I don't like his chances of doing well with it. But we'll see.

He was pretty shakey that day. Barely 50% completions, no TDs, 2 picks. If Volek started the Chargers might have won that game.

a large portion of this so called streak Farver spent ramped up beyond the paranormal on illegal painkillers and virtual isomers of heroin. His "streak" is as bogus as his phony "aw shucks" down homey Mississippi image.

for 291 games he has 1SB win and has cost his team more crucial losses.

CNNSI.com - SI Online - SI Flashback: Bitter pill - Wednesday January 09, 2002 01:41 PM

A source close to Favre told SI that Favre initially balked at entering a rehab facility. The source said Favre also did not want to comply with a demand from his NFL-appointed addiction counselors to sign a 10-part treatment plan that called for him, among other things, to stop drinking for two years. Favre claims he doesn't have an alcohol problem. However, the league's substance-abuse policy mandates that a player who turns himself in for treatment comply with his counselors' recommendations. Had he refused to sign the treatment plan and enter a rehab center, Favre could have been considered in noncompliance with the policy. That could have triggered the penalty clause, under which he could have been subject to a four-game suspension in 1996 without pay (which would cost him $900,000). So he signed the document, revealed the depth of his problem in a press conference in Green Bay on May 14 and traveled by private jet to Kansas at 5 a.m. the next day.

he's been a lying, manipulating undercover fraud his whole life...he should be thankful he's not incarcerated...

Okay but seriously ... this really is not news.

what do you mean? favre had been saying all week that he didn't know his status for the game and today he says he's expected to start. you couldn't have assumed that favre was going to play all along. add to the fact that tavaris jackson took all the snaps this week and we simply didn't know what to expect.
