How many of those happened last year? Not many. His hands will never be great, admittedly, but they're certainly not too bad, at this point. Welker's drop rate was higher than his last year.

Bowe's deal will set the market for Welker. I hope the Chiefs didn't go too crazy. I also hope that Welker's age and possible future fragility is taken into account when discussing contract terms. IE Pats should build in protection in case Welker misses any extended period of playing time, declines too significantly, etc.

I never thought that Bowe would be a good fit for this offense. I doubt he would have been able to pick it up.
