Have look. Interested in if others on this forum have concerns.

From my perspective, he has slow release, under throws a lot of balls and is not that fast.

Definitely not the same talent level as Jaylen Daniels or Caleb.

I do not see him as having as great an arm as Herbert or as good of a runner as Allen.
I suspect he will be a good (top 15) but not great QB in this league.

Still sniffing around for something to be upset about.

I bet if the perfect QB descended from the clouds and was signed by the Pats you'd still find a problem with him.

What? You really liked Maye back when you thought the Patriots wouldn’t have a chance at him.

He wanted to trade next years 1st rounder to get maye over Daniels when it looked like we were getting Daniels. Now that we have maye hes not on the same talent level as Daniels. Unreal

I see what you did there, still negative but trying to appear reasonable.

Allen was 6'5' and 237 coming out of college. Herbert was 6'6" and 236. Maye is 6'4" and 230. Daniels is 6'4" and 210. Williams is 6'1" and 214.

So Williams is short and Daniels is a stick like Tyquan. Maye is 1" shorter than Allen but about the same height -to- weight ratio. I read that Maye is a bit faster on tape, but Maye did not run the 40 so we do not have a direct comparison. Maye is a few years younger than Daniels.
Bleacher Report states:
"Maye received rave reviews in a recent conversation with an NFC quarterbacks coach who has studied his film: 'He's Josh Allen, Justin Herbert ... and I think his arm is comparable to C.J. Stroud,' Miller wrote. "Those comparisons are high praise and would be tough for new general manager Adam Peters to ignore. Maye's arm talent and mobility at 6-foot-4 and 230 pounds perfectly fit the modern quarterback profile."

Taller QBs have longer arms so they have a slightly longer release. I don't think Maye's release looks extra longer but over his career I am sure he can improve it.

Maye needs this year and next to fill out and learn the QB position, especially since he is young. I love Maye's attitude and demeanor. The most important thing is how fast he processes the defense and field, and early indications are that he is seeing everything and processing it.

I am very high on Maye. But maybe that is an overreaction after watching Mac for 3 years. Lol.

The funniest part is that Maye has not played a single snap of college football between these two posts. All of the tape is the same.

Sam are you OK?

Later in the linked thread, you also said that Williams and Maye are in one tier and there is a "huge dropoff" to Daniels, and if those two were gone and they only had a chance at Daniels, you would take JJ McCarthy instead.

Drop the mic moment right here.

All NFL people that are in the know.. experts,GMs and scouts all concluded Drake was the best QB prospect in the 2024 draft. Teams were willing to give up big capital to get him from us.

If Drake has a slow release what is your assessment on molasses Brissett release..

I think in two years time, defenses will have more issues stopping Maye vs Daniels. I think Daniels will do very good this year and get rookie of the year. But defenses will adjust and I don't see him adjusting that well to said defenses.

Maye will start off rough but grow into a more complete QB imo. Not to mention the concern of injury is higher with Daniels.

By 2027, the Patriots should be top seven in odds to win the SB. If they aren't, something has likely gone very wrong with the the front office/coaches.

In closing, I think the Patriots will have an elite QB by 2026 tops. It will be up to the coaches/front office to do the rest.
