He is in love. Damn, need someone to look at me like this lol.

This is so cool. I love the angle, will be awesome if they give us such angles during games. He had so many open folks, Henry was an easier TD than Henderson. We left a lot of TDs on the field.

Andrew Luck is a great comparison for Maye. What a great football player before the Colts beat the love of football out of him.

BTW- more and more we are seeing Drake make more "off schedule plays" a la Mahomes. Here is another level to his game we can expect a big improvement. Part of Mahomes success in off schedule plays come from his familiarity with his receivers. They know where to go when things go "off schedule, and Mahome KNOWS where they will go from years of experience. Maye is just scratching the surface of this aspect of his game. Think of what it CAN be when he gets more in sync with receivers who aren't virtual strangers to him.

When I watch Maye, he reminds me of an amalgamation of the following:

-Luck (Nice soft touch/tempo on his throws)
-Rodgers (Improvisation, effortless thrower)
-Stafford (when he’s holding the ball in the pocket with his eyes downfield).

It's the face of all of the New England area and every Pats fan when looking at Maye.

This kid's life has gone to a level where it's impossible to stay throughly humble. The idolation. The pressure to live up to it all. Oof.

I am so glad Vrabel might be the most qualified HC in the league to make sure a player's headspace stays strong and healthy.

Yeah, Maye! You tell Big Country to stay in a rookie’s place!!! Lol

From transcripts I've seen, it seems like Campbell was trying to pull the "Drake 'Drake Maye' Maye" thing in this interview, too.

I'm not really worried at all about his humility; his three older brothers should be able to knock his ego down a peg or two if it starts to get too big.

I'm more concerned about the pressure aspect, since he already puts a ton of pressure on himself. Heck, there's a video on YouTube where he says that if there's something Vrabel would call him out for, it's not celebrating enough when they score.

At least we don't have to worry about him marrying some poser like Giselle and turning him into a fancy boy.

What's really striking to me is how composed and in control he is now. He looks like a 10 year veteran, it looks like the game has slowed way down for him.

I hate seeing Maye compared to the most narcissistic quarterback of his generation.

Likening Maye's "release" to Rodgers' is off base. There might be similarities re. accuracy and decision making/play extension (throwing on the move) in some cases, but the mechanics with these two are VERY different. Rodgers habitually throws short/medium routes from a closed stance off his back foot, which would doom most quarterbacks but his unique arm talent somehow makes it work. Maye is more conventional by comparison with stance, arm motion and follow-through. Maye's arm at this early stage of his career might actually be stronger.
